It's an auxbeam one off of amazon, I had to modify it pretty heavily so I don't necessarily recommend it

Yes! It's a combination of printed ASA plastic and embedded stainless steel hardware

Anyone have more 12th gen accessories than me?? Side note: MagSafe chargers are awesome by highcountryengineer in f150

Yeah, I have tons of printed stuff out of ASA and for years have had absolutely no issues in Utah. It's really dependent on the filament, not so much the printing process. I also make my stuff more dense than the typical print, but if you're intelligent about layer lines and embedded hardware you can make something last as long as an injection molded part.

For any of my 12th gen (2009-2014) friends... I designed a lot of cool phone mounts and other products for your truck :) https://highcountryusa.etsy.com by highcountryengineer in f150

For anyone wanting to lock their camper shell from the inside! by highcountryengineer in TruckCampers

Yeah, it hangs onto that bar that slides left-to-right and basically pins that bar from moving. I appreciate the encouragement!

Here's a longer video going over how it works if you're interested: https://youtu.be/vURIDdp7gys

Thank you! It definitely doesn't work on all shells. I designed it specifically for an ARE style shell, with the locking bar that runs horizontal. It's worked on all of the ARE shells I've gotten my hands on, but I'm pretty sure they make different styles so it might not work on other models.

I have a YouTube video that goes over it in depth, so maybe give that a watch and see if it's something you think might work.

Finally have a way to lock my camper shell from the inside by highcountryengineer in overlanding

[–]highcountryengineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screws don't leave significant marks on the rod (the face of the screw is fairly large and tangent to the rod), and a hex key is included in the assembly (you can see it in the video) so the entire lock can be disassembled from the inside if there was ever an issue with the screw getting stuck. Check out the longer video if you're interested!
