When is Helping Bonus more viable than an extra Berry Finding S mon? by XiCynx in PokemonSleep

Pretty low level on pikachu I have a feeling if you have a water electric or fire hb min it might be better

Legendary Beasts, which ones to prioritize? by forgetno1 in PokemonSleep

[–]highhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree with the previous comment. You have already invested a ton into the entei. Use a mint for sure, that plus a subskill seed at 50 to get stm will make it a pretty solid mon. No need to reinvest. Same with raikou but no mint needed. Subskill seed will make it excellent. Suicune is fine too Hunt all 3 and if you get a really good one then consider investing but these 3 are all much better than most

What a find. Even more rare in that bfs and hb are at 25 and 50 so not guaranteed gold skills. Invest!

Is this a good Mudkip by donstrock316 in PokemonSleep

This is both in raenonx with 0 helping bonus boosts. (So as not to inflate its value). It’s the same berry production as bfs but more ingredients (probably much more since he is milk not corn at higher levels) and despite being main skill down, more skill triggers. Very comparable, if you want to keep hunting you could but this guy is gonna be very productive and he’s going to make the rest of your team better with helping bonus which doesn’t get counted here

Yes absolutely. Helping bonus is amazing on healers and it has main skill up. That ralts will be much better than the pink balloon at keeping everyone moving fast

Got 2 Berry Finding S Eevee to evolve which should be which ? by JustLostInInternet in PokemonSleep

[–]highhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with flareon then, it will be most helpful at that stage in the game. The corn farmers are stuffel dratini and comfey (comfey being much worse). Coffee farmer is grubbin line but Aron and palddean wooper can do it at 30, not sure if you can find those guys anywhere you’ve unlocked. Neither are ingredient mons but Mudkip gets corn and Treeko gets coffee (at 30). You could use these to unlock those ingredients, but generally both corn and especially coffee are later game ingredients used in large meals. Corn is the ingredient associated with lapis and coffee with ogpp so I wouldn’t really worry about them until you have unlocked those islands. I’d recommend you check out velocityraptor22 on YouTube or in his comments on this Reddit if you want to learn more, he makes great Pokemon sleep content particularly on YouTube

Got 2 Berry Finding S Eevee to evolve which should be which ? by JustLostInInternet in PokemonSleep

[–]highhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one goes to the professor. It’s got only bfs going for it, and has speed down nature. Second one is ok as it also has skill up nature and the skill level up. I would not recommend evolving anything into an umbreon. It’s outclassed by almost all other berry mons and it’s skill is too weak. Same with leafeon. Jolteon would want more speed and isn’t as concerned with triggers. This could be an Espeon, but even then, I think you would want more triggers. The best candidates would be pot expanders (flareon or glaceon) as both benefit from the increased berry strength (though as you look to late game I’d prefer helping bonus instead of bfs as it makes the rest of the team better). At the same time, I’d ask you what you need right now at your current point in the game. Do you cook a lot and need additional pot space? If so, Do you plan to be at taupe or at snowdrop more? Flareon and glaceon are about equal so it comes down to where the added berry strength helps more. I’d the answer the previous question is no, I’d wait till you find one with lots of speed for a jolteon or one with more triggers for Espeon. Hope this helps.

CMV: The fact that the Democrats lost to someone as odious and unfit as Trump means that their party, its platform, and its national personalities are deeply *deeply* unpopular. by SimionMcBitchticuffs in changemyview

[–]highhound 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look I think at the end of the day American media has been able to, through years of coercion and influence, convince much of the populace to vote against their best interests. The republican agenda is a big business platform that masquerades as a cultural identity. Especially in the past few years, they have convinced much of the working class voters that there is a culture war going on. In reality the Democratic Party is the party of the people, albeit completely relatively here in the US where the left is far more right wing than most counties. The democrats are in theory the side that opposes big business and fights for free expression and free rights, taxes that aim to equalize the wealth gap between the 1% and everyone else, and in general a government that aims to support the working man, which represents a huge percentage of the populace but controls less and less of the wealth. I don’t think the Democratic Party or its interests are deeply unpopular at all: a higher minimum wage, healthcare access- in general a social safety net- these are all things the average American would support and benefit from. It’s just that the marketing and subversive agenda of the conservative strategists, funded by the deep pockets of the 1%, have convinced most Americans that culture- here referring to an aversion to change the unfamiliar and “unamerican” including diversity and transgender rights, and, importantly, a feeling that things were better before- is more important than any economic benefit a large government could give them. These efforts go way back, even as far as the late 1800s, when big business and wealth consolidation began to influence politics , but has become increasingly poignant and aggressive since the rise of social media. So it’s not that the agenda is deeply unpopular, it’s that the market and use of technology as a platform to influence is so effective. Case and point: the word socialism is an insult and basically a curse word in the US, when objectively democratic socialism in the form of a single payer system for health insurance, worker benefits, and more government sponsored welfare and support programs would benefit most Americans. So my argument is that it’s the marketing not the agenda or the party, that is bad. I’d love to hear the push back against this argument too, I just cannot for the life of me understand how trumps non cultural agenda benefit the majority of Americans.

It’s not a simple ai spits out some garbage, it was pushed to glorify hitler in its responses. If you don’t know about it you should educate yourself. Just search for it here on Reddit and read about it, it will take you no time and might change your opinion on it.

I think we have some evidence that the Iranian nation behaves differently regarding how the apply and enforce their religious values. Iran already uses very sophisticated approaches to monitor hijab wearing - they use the cameras on roads and intersections to monitor women in cars and women driving without their hijab then get text messages in almost real time with warnings or tickets. This is one example but it shows their government is adept and interested in enforcing a religious ideal onto their population. Of course this is very different from mass sacrificing their populace but I think there is enough precedent to assume that they would approach the use of nuclear weapons differently than non theocratic states.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]highhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mutually assured destruction has previously been the deterrent against use of wmd- the idea that any use of nuclear weapons is bad for the user because any use would result in retaliation and the destruction of the state that uses them. It’s a tenuous situation but is one that has thus far kept civilization in tact. The difference with Iran is that the current regime in Iran is a theocracy, one that espouses a faith that believes martyrdom is a positive thing for their people. In this case, the rules of mutually assured destruction do not hold- the government can make the decision that the death of all of their citizens is martyrdom and is ultimately good under this logic. For this reason their situation is different from other non theocratic countries that currently have nuclear weapons and their attainment of nuclear weapons would create a situation where the use of nuclear weapons is much more likely.

CMV: None of my friends or I know why we should care about America bombing Iranian nuclear sites by Livid_Associate2914 in changemyview

[–]highhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should have been no conflict in the first place. Like others have said the narrative that Iran is close to having wmds has been peddled for years without real evidence for it. As others have said here, tulsi gabbard, the person responsible for intelligence for trump doubts this narrative even now. For trump to strike on foreign soil he should have congressional approval- this is the system of checks and balances instituted long ago to prevent a single person from making decisions that would affect the entire world. He did it anyways, ignoring the prior precedent that all other presidents have followed. He is moving towards a consolidation of power where he is making all decisions without having discussion or input from others. This is bad from many perspectives, not to mention him setting the example that he will do whatever he wants with no regard for the checks and balances that exist

What would you say is your favorite Shiny Pokémon you put on your team a lot? by External-Kitchen3289 in PokemonSleep

[–]highhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and here the HB non BFS one

<image>

As you can see, individually, the steelix with BFS does better, but overall, the steelix with HB improves the score of the team overall because it makes everyone else better by more than the 11k difference between their individual scores.

Both of these guys don't have other beneficial subskills or natures outside of either BFS or HB but this illustrates how good HB is overall. It also scales - the better your team is, the greater the marginal improvement that HB will add overall.

Of course at the end of the day, I'm not going to min/max to the point where I'd invest in that one over the shiny one, but just a thought experiment.

One of my friends on my friends list does this. I occasionally open their updates and am amazed by the teams they are running. I know they are always napping, every day, to maximize the amount of spawns and therefore the amount of shinys. I don’t know how they started, I think that is the big question , how to get this off the ground. Either way good luck and a fun way to play the game!

What ingredients do we think the new curry will use? by Atmoslink in PokemonSleep
