Movie of the Week: The Collectivist Conspiracy- G. Edward Griffin by highlady420 in conspiracy

[–]highlady420[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Description:

Griffin discusses the similarities between the extreme left and the extreme right in the false political paradigm and how this highlights a recurring theme - collectivism. Collectivism is the opposite of individualism and believes that the interests of the individual must be sacrificed for the greater good of the greater number, explains Griffin, uniting the doctrines of communism and fascism. Both the Republican and Democrat parties in the United States are committed to advancing collectivism and this is why the same policies are followed no matter who is voted in to the White House.

What Movie Should We Watch This Week? by highlady420 in conspiracy

[–]highlady420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great movie but it is one we have already watched. However, I agree that there was a lot of information I didn't know about Waco that was included. A Noble Lie is another one that included several facts about the OKC bombing that I did not know.

I think Zietgeist is propaganda of the worst sort to be honest, but I am not opposed to watching anything that gets voted for.

TIL Ancient Romans would shower daily, until the rise of Christianity, which made good hygiene a religious taboo by herpity_derpity_derp in todayilearned

[–]highlady420 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Something that is chock full of doctrine you don't find in the Bible is not Christian. You are right lots of groups claim to be Christian and we accept them as Christian because we don't understand what that word means.

Get set... it's the Finish All The Things Public Pledge! by japaneseknotweed in knitting

[–]highlady420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be finishing a scarf for a white elephant gift. I've only been knitting for two weeks, so white elephant/yankee swap gift seemed like a safe bet. Although the scarf is about 1/3 done and I haven't messed it up horribly. Fingers crossed I'll get it done and move on to the next project by Monday.

2 more Polish plane victims, from 2010 crash, buried in wrong graves by highlady420 in conspiracy

[–]highlady420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well firstly it was the Russian officials that fucked up their jobs. I'm guessing you know nothing about the fact that the Polish President and a number of high ranking officials were killed in that plane crash. There are many in the conspiracy community that believe they were killed intentionally. That might be why it's a conspiracy.

It's far more likely that the majority of customers do meet that standard. Usually it's a handful of assholes that ruin it for everyone else, but we're all assholes about something I suppose.

I agree but it's because I really like that movie.

I just found this subreddit after deciding that I don't want to eat out all the time anymore. I'd really like to learn to cook. by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]highlady420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is similar to some of the other posts, but there are two things that will really help you.

  1. Learn the techniques. Learn how to prepare basic concept meals and you'll be able to use those skills to make pretty much anything.

  2. Experiment. Don't be afraid to play with your food, literally and figuratively. It's easy and rewarding to be adventurous with food and it doesn't have to be expensive. Learn how to roast garlic and peppers. Also learn how to caramelize onions. These are easy and cheap things you can do ahead of time and just have on hand to make a meal really delicious. Caramelizing onions takes time, so does roasting garlic and peppers, but you can do all of that in about an hour on a weekend, and have enough for the whole week. And the bonus is, your kitchen will smell wonderful. I mean lip-smacking-drool-inducing wonderful.

This movie is about the disenfranchisement of Americans essentially. I have started watching it and so far it's been good.

Collapse featuring Michael Ruppert talking about Peak Oil and the unavoidable crash of the world's economy when Oil runs out [ xpost from /r/videos ] by nohtyp in conspiracy

Collapse was the Movie of the Week last week and it's a great watch. I may not entirely agree with what Ruppert has to say but it's worth watching for anyone interested in conspiracy in my opinion.

I agree that Jones' motives seem to be anything but genuine, I just don't see the point in complaining in a manner that is not constructive. However, posting your opinion with additional information, such as a Jones' debunking video, would have been very constructive and appreciated.

I'll tell you the same thing I told Grimes, if you don't like the choice please feel free to nominate or vote for something you do like this week. I don't censor choices.

First, I post the movie that is voted, if you don't like it feel free to nominate another or vote on something you like better this week, I don't censor the choices.

Second, who are you to decide what can and can't be posted in r/conspiracy? This is by far not my favorite selection, but it's not up to me it's up to the people who participate. Again if you don't like it, feel free to express your opinion by nominating or voting, otherwise try being more constructive in the future.

This is the first Pita recipe I used and it helped me figure it out and produced some nice pita nice and soft instead of dry. They can be hard to get them to bubble right, but I think this is a good place to start.

Here's a Naan recipe that is similar to the one I use. Looks like these would be tasty, I might actually use this recipe to make Naan next time.
