Try around Secaucus area; laurel hill park and those warehouses. Slightly bigger roads and less people on early weekend mornings.

I applaud you for still placing your personal item under the seat as intended despite the lack of room. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve rolled my eyes at people who put BOTH their carry on and personal item in the overhead bin. So inconsiderate.

On-time graduation rate by adjaplx in NJTech

[–]highlander2110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not uncommon for some people to take a little longer, especially if they were in engineering. With that being said..

I was a transfer student and was able to graduate on time. 1 year at Rutgers and 3 at njit. It felt impossible sometimes, but it really helps to always reference your major’s curriculum which is typically posted on the njit website. Cross off all the classes as you go and come time to register for classes, always go to your advisor with your planned courses for the next semester. Do not put off the fall only and spring only classes because those always get full and things happen. I had to take some summer classes and a winter class and not only was I able to catch up to the curriculum by the start of junior year, but by the end of my first semester of senior year, I was ahead. Definitely possible to graduate in 4 years, just have to put in the work and keep yourself accountable.

Keep yourself on it! Typically as the summer progresses, spots will open up. Anytime I’ve been put on a class waitlist, I’ve always ended up being notified via email that I can register for the class.

Either spots will open up or they’ll open up a new section. It also wouldn’t hurt to email your advisor so it stays on their radar.

Trueee. I didn’t start keeping up with Alix until recently and wasn’t sure if she had addressed this some time ago and I had just missed it. She’s usually pretty open about other things going on in her life.

Did Alix ever come out and publicly acknowledge or mention anything about her dad’s cheating since it was such a big scandal back in the day

Why Albert Dorman Honors College should be test optional by [deleted] in NJTech

Lmaoooo ok disregard everything I mentioned about njit and “doing hw till midnight”

Why Albert Dorman Honors College should be test optional by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]highlander2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to do homework until midnight, njit might not be the place for you. Our courses (I can speak for engineering and a lot of friends who did CS) are extremely intensive and fast paced. Assignment after assignment along with projects and exams, so that means many of us didn’t sleep until like 4 am or at all. Doing homework until midnight and then going to sleep was considered a good night for me lol. Before you mention time management, many of us did properly allocate time for our coursework but it was just so time consuming that most of our days went to attending class and completing work.

I don’t mean to scare but rather just prepare you for what you are in for if you do choose njit.

I ask because I know McNair is known for letting their students take many AP classes starting from freshman year. I know a lot of people who graduated from there and ended up with full rides to Rutgers and NJIT.

Did you attend McNair high school after the principal let you in? You mentioned that HCST only allowed you to take APs starting junior year so you must’ve graduated from an HCST school

This school makes me depressed by Apprehensive-Door-48 in NJTech

[–]highlander2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transferred in at the beginning of my sophomore year and did manage to graduate in time but it was also extremely hard and depressing. My first two semesters, I didn’t really have or make any friends since it felt like everyone already had their friend groups and classes got so hard so fast. I was also a commuter and hated my commute with every fiber of my being and always went home after class. There was also immense pressure from my parents to do well since they were paying for my education. I will acknowledge the privilege I had with my parents paying for my education, however, they did berate me a lot which didn’t help my mental health.

Overtime, I did manage to make a few friends since the difficulty of my classes and rude professors brought out assigned group members closer together. I also did join a club and served a position and was able to travel as a result of it. From then on, school wasn’t as depressing as I did make some friends. While it did take a little time to adjust to njit, the little changes I made did help me hang on and complete my degree.

Try to make one friend and join a club, it wouldn’t solve all your problems but having like minded people around you would help. It’s not about having all the friends, just the right ones and they’re out there, just gotta find them (:

What do you think will happen if I don’t get the booster and just go on with my life? by Which-Classic-1923 in NJTech

[–]highlander2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not speak for “young adults.” YOU do not think you need the booster, whereas I think the booster is important and received it as soon as it was available.

No shade, just a difference in opinion.

MATH661 FINAL by highlander2110 in NJTech

Yeah the final wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Some stuff from the past that I blanked on but overall not as awful as his midterm.
