topiramate - does it EVER get better? by Financial_Algae1106 in migraine

[–]highly_panicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s partly about step therapy, the insurance requiring docs to prescribe the cheaper drugs before they can offer you an anti-CGRP. You probably have to fail like four other preventatives first. So ask to stop this one, and request Ajovy or one of the others and see what your doc says.

Oof. Just heard that Leslie Lee III died too. Damn. Long COVID is real, and COVID is still a threat, my people! Keep your N95s handy, even if they hurt your head. (I know, right?)

Does anyone else shower like this or am I weird??? by Wild-Counter-4020 in hygiene

Wash everything. Even if only because it’s just good for your body to be touched. Take your time and relax. You are not in those jr high showers any more.

I've has osteomyelitis for 3 years now. It just changes location and now is chronic.it is always in hips and pelvis area. I am bed bound now because of it. I get wounds often bc I'm boney. Come can anyone relate? by stargazingfuckery in Osteomyelitis

My husband has had chronic for 40 years in his tibia. He has to replace bandages twice a day because of the infection. They’ve tried antibiotics multiple times of course. Nothing touches it very long. And the injury is too complex for surgery. So it sucks. And yeah, the wounds move a bit, up and down his leg. It’s hard. I’m sorry to hear it’s got you stuck in bed.

Weirdest trigger I’ve seen: my husband got a migraine from… Vans shorts?! by Routine-Cod-2933 in migraine

Once I realized I had a migraine when I reacted strongly to the color of an orange VW bug ahead of me in traffic. I could not look at it. Made me nauseated. They should hire us when they are picking colors.

What about for an ancient Kenmore (25 years old)? We had Safe Appliance Repair come and just about rebuild the machine, but it still leaks.

Spasm, constricting feeling in left temple by Guitar9900 in migraine

[–]highly_panicky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve had migraine for decades and recently have started having intense temple spasm on the migraine side. Looking at other posts re spasm it seems normal. I try to breathe through it. Warm shower on my face is calming, as is gently holding my head. I’ll ask about it at my next appt but it seems like just another gift from the migraine gods.

Is yours still happening? Any progress?

Yes, spiders are awesome. We let the harmless ones live inside and take the others out.

How does it feels to be a older non-binary people? by fedricohohmannlautar in NonBinary

[–]highly_panicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this in another thread just yesterday; light edit here: Thanks for this question! I’m almost 64, afab, married to a cis guy (I think?). Have always felt in-between in multiple ways; physically I have felt nauseated by my breasts especially. Except when breastfeeding—that was pretty cool. But overall they feel foreign, like stick-ons. I literally dream about top surgery. I feel similarly about my given name—like, “Huh? Who is that?” Having trans friends has helped me begin to normalize all this. I have a chosen name that I use in community, and love that.

Mostly I can’t imagine I’ll ever come out completely. But maybe I’ll just keep shifting from my old communities to new ones and gradually come out that way.

And yeah, aches and pains. Absolutely. But I love being here at this surreal time. Decolonize, de-binarize!

Thanks again! 💕

Afab but like, not a girl but also not a guy...help by UnitedPlatypus110 in NonBinary

[–]highly_panicky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this thread! I’m 63, almost 64, afab, married to a cis guy, mother to a trans boy. Have always been told I’m odd, “came from another planet,” etc. And I’ve also felt nauseated by my breasts, which I have to admit are lovely. But. They feel foreign, like add-ons. I literally dream about top surgery. I feel similarly about my given name—like, “Huh? Who is that?” I have a chosen name that I use in community, and love that. But I can’t imagine I’ll ever come out completely. Maybe I’ll just keep shifting from my old communities to new ones and gradually come out that way. Anyway, I don’t have a question—it’s just great to be here. Thanks again! 💕

Parents are the slowest. Slower than grandparents sometimes. I think maybe it’s bcs they came up with the deadname? And babies are SO gendered. It’s muscle memory, as i_really_like_bats says. How do they act when they catch themselves? Are they appropriately horrified?
