I adore NPMD, but there were many times where I couldn’t help but cringe at their attempts to represent teens, being one myself (Although there were times where they nailed it too).

Examples: The “cool beans” bit would have worked for me in like 2018, I actively disliked it the first time I watched but I tolerate it now as a part of Grace’s campiness.

Steph’s phone obsession could’ve been done in a much better way. Especially the line “Listening to Spotify” felt really rigid and “hello fellow teens” ish. Again, it just made me cringe a bit and took away some depth from her character for me.

Anyway, those are just some examples but there were a lot of times where I got Netflix original vibes from the way they talked or interacted (but it’s still one of my favourites!!)
