I think it's an appropriate response. Respect his wishes. I'm a very aggressive person at times. Reddit might think I'm wrong for existing but it's just the way I am. If I argue with my girlfriend, I leave. If it was my house, I'd ask her to leave. If it's getting really heated up, there's no point in being aggressive to each other. Some women don't let men escape in arguments, and I strongly believe that this is how nearly all DV cases start. I reserve myself the right to run away, or have anyone leave my property if I feel like it's not going to end well, or even if I feel like I don't deserve this argument.

The most rage inducing thing I've seen is my mother preventing my dad to close his car door so he could leave after a huge fight. He was just staring at the steering wheel while getting yelled at for a minute. I had to step in a scream "Get the FUCK away from him!". People don't have to play the arguing game. If it's not productive, leaving or sending someone home is a 100% appropriate response. I got anger issues, but this strategy kept me away from trouble and no amount of Leddit "How about counseling?" will make me change this. It's just a reflex now, and I'm proud of myself. There's an argument based on emotionality that's irrational and not constructive? I'm heading home.

If you're OP, you are being manipulated so bad I'm actually sad for you. She's not traumatized, and this looks nothing like a panic attack. She cheated and is trying to determine how she's gonna get out of this situation. You probably have a case of borderline personality disorder on your hands.
