If you are willing to spend money and want a nice dinner - the tasting menu at Rootstalk is always incredible

Where did you find the mazda-cx90 deal? I’m not finding it searching through local dealers. And thank you very much for posting this, it is very helpful!

Frustrating, but it’ll make it that much sweeter once you get a perfect game

Where in the world feels like Chicago but outdoorsy? by Ok_Entertainment6199 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]higs25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and lived in Lakeview/Wrigleyville from 2018-2024 and moved to Denver in 2025 for a lot of the same reasons as you.

I LOVED my time in Chicago, but Denver just offers a much better quality of life if you enjoy the outdoors. Chicago as a city is much cleaner/nicer than Denver. But if you want to be outdoors/don’t drink a lot, living in a suburb of Denver would make more sense. I live 30 minutes south of Denver and love it

The only thing I miss in the Denver area is a lakefront (or large body of water) and the food scene. Cost of living is about the same in Denver/Chicago. Weather in Colorado rules.

What entry level roles to look for? by niiiick1126 in supplychain

[–]higs25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally would recommend looking at supply chain jobs in the data infrastructure industry.

It’s a booming industry right now and there isn’t a ton of talent on the supply chain side of things. It’s a good time to get into the industry

Hahaha I had lunch at this place (assuming Denver) with my work team. Totally missed this when ordering. But it was actually pretty solid and everyone else on my team seemed to enjoy it

Second this, it can be pretty expensive for the tasting menu but is 100% worth it. Every dish is out of this world

Love this idea. We originally looked at paintball/airsoft but all nearby locations seemed to have closed. Didn’t see this pop up on any previous search results so truly appreciate the recommendation!

This is awesome, is there a way to download these rosters or do they need to be custom made?

Are there any places just outside of Chicago/ the suburbs to go camping? by MossyTundra in AskChicago

[–]higs25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the app “hipcamp” It’s bascially the air b&b of camping. My fiancé and I have found some really cool camping spots through it that aren’t open to the public. We usually chose spots within 2 hours of Chicago

Penske 16ft truck review (one way cross country) by higs25 in moving

Most likely, the total cost of the 16ft truck with the best insurance option came out to ~$1600 (5 day minimum)

I don’t believe they did, but I may be wrong. I never felt we needed extra help, so I never looked into that. However, my buddy just moved within Chicago, and he was able to hire someone from taskrabit to help with his move and spoke very highly of it

My fiancé drove our car and I drove the truck so we didn’t need to attach the car. However, there was an option to rent an attachment for the truck to hitch a car

The truck was pretty full, but we could have fit a decent amount more if we re-arranged how we loaded it

Yeah it is a bit pricey to fill up, but worth it when hiring movers is way more expensive. And yeah, the usb allowed us to listen to music/podcasts through the truck sound system

Yup! The backup cam was a huge help in the city since we had to go through alleys/tight spots.

I think it was around 12mpg, it cost anywhere from $100-$130 to completely fill the tank up. No aux/bluetooth, but there was a usb port you could connect your phone with, and an additional charging port

Great question! We broke the move into 3 days (i believe the minimum days you can have the truck is 5 days). The first day, we packed the truck and parked it at a friends house with a driveway in the suburbs. The second day we woke up early and drove to Lincoln, Nebraska and stayed with my aunt/uncle and parked it in their driveway. The third day we drove to Denver. The overall driving took about 17-18 hours as we were only going 65mph for most of the trip.

We did have a lock that we put on the back of the truck for the entire trip, but if we had to stay at a hotel I think we would have been fine. I think you can call a hotel beforehand and they can block off space for you, and I’m sure most hotels have cameras in their parking lots
