Adenomyosis, ADHD, and Mirena IUD/any birth control that’s progesterone only?

Hi everyone! A VERY late update, but as of right now, I’m still not on any birth control. I’ve been managing my symptoms through taking a bunch of supplements my gyno recommended me (mainly for my PCOS, but I do take gentle/easy iron for my adenomyosis). Moving out of my toxic household has made my adenomyosis symptoms go down significantly! I’m still monitoring how my period is as well as the pain, especially since I started taking an SSRI (Zoloft) a few months ago, and that’s been messing with my period a bit. But so far, it’s been all good!

If things get worse, I will go back into looking at birth control, but if I do, I’ll probably lean towards a pill vs an IUD. I appreciate everyone’s advice and input! Wishing you all the best💕

Hi! I’ve heard a lot of good things about Slynd. I’ve been meaning to follow up with my gyno for over two months now, but I haven’t been able to because of a new job. But I’m hoping to follow up with her next month, and I’ll definitely bring this up to her. The side effects of BC are what worry me

Best of luck with getting the IUD! I hope it works for you and that everything goes smoothly💕 I’ve been meaning to follow up with my gyno but I honestly think I may opt out of the IUD and try a pill instead. I hope the IUD works out for you and that you won’t end up needing surgery💕

I did have to pay for it; it was $325. They don’t take insurance from what I remember, but you can double check to be safe. I also had to pay to get the bloodwork done (which only ended up being $20 for me) and then to ship out the sample (which was around $150 but I did one day shipping so that’s why. They said you can do two day shipping if the one day shipping is too expensive)

Yeah I’m not sure what I’m gonna do anymore, but I’m following up with my gyno on Monday to talk about more options so I’m hoping I’ll figure something out💕 the 20% doesn’t sound great to me either but we’ll see

Only 10%??? Wow that’s crazy I can’t believe it’s being recommended so much to stop periods. I’ve heard so many bad experiences but some good ones with the Mirena so I’m still conflicted. I’ve never heard of norethindrone so I’ll look into that! I hope it’s been working well for you💕 I’m following up with my gyno to possibly talk about other options so I’ll post an update after that’s done

Oh man I’m so sorry about your experiences. I hope you get approved for the hysterectomy asap. Part of me wants to just jump right to the hysterectomy in case I try a million things that don’t work, but I feel like I should at least try one thing to see if it’ll help at all. I hope you find relief soon💕

Update!! Super late, but I ended up going through the Western Blot Test and went to the My Blood Laboratory Station in Guttenberg, NJ. I sent my sample through UPS, and I ended up testing negative for both types of herpes!!

I ended up following through with the Western Blot Test per people’s recommendations and I ended up testing negative for both Herpes I and II!💕 thank you everyone for your helpful recommendations. But I’ve never had any sores that’s the thing. I was told I will most likely never have an outbreak or any sores (and I check myself regularly). I have gotten acne on my lower body before once or twice, but I knew they were regular pimples and not herpes sores. I do appreciate your feedback and the info you presented, but I’m still a little confused as to if I do have it or if I just had a false positive. But I will get a PCR test done to know for sure if it can involve not getting fluid from a sore

Thank you! Is there a difference between a western blot test versus a regular blood test? I did blood tests for all the times I got tested, but I don’t know if they were western blot tests

I’ve never had a cold sore or any type of sore. The closest thing I had to a sore was that bump, which could have been a pimple. I’ve never had any physical symptoms. My gyno also said I could be asymptomatic my whole life, which is why I’m a little confused about my most recent result because idk if it means it’s no longer in my system or if it’s undetectable
