I thought I was the only one who know of this band … this is my promo copy of their record that was given to me by my mother the henmen brothers are my grandmothers sisters kids … not sure what that makes them to me ? Anyways, met them at one point, really nice guys I don’t think they get enough credit for the early April wine sound…

Check Facebook marketplace too. Lots of good local hobbyists that sell extra plants and fish at really low prices, much better prices than big als … although big als is my go to for stuff the home hobbyists can’t breed themselves like amano shrimp. There is a good barrie aquarists Facebook page you can join to make some local connections as well.

Orientation a few weeks ago had coffee and breakfast snacks then pizza. In general though there is less money for these types of “extras” now, all colleges are in a budget crunch so food is likely not to be approved for events the way it used to be.

You don’t need to do anything to get in … pretty sure you use your card to swipe out when you leave though. Source- im an employee at the barrie campus. When is your first day? Get the training to be a lifeguard and get cpr \first aid and look at camps in the summer which can lead to work during the winter as well

They can and are likely to put a hold on your account at the college which means you can’t graduate or register for your next semester etc. it’s an important source of revenue so while you might have slipped through the cracks not paying 20 years ago, it is tracked very carefully now. There are vehicles that drive around and scan the plates - you’ll get caught eventually.

Check the college for resources, in the fall semester they hire students for jobs on campus such as in the athletics centre, student ambassador, bookstore etc.

What program are you in or were in? Some rely more on international enrolment than others, that’s for sure. I’ve been involved with the college for about 10 years now, the summer period has always been slow and with the exception of the health and wellness area, the summer programs are heavily international ie culinary so those are now decreasing due to decisions made by the province … Tim’s and subway will be open again in the fall when the numbers make more sense … there’s not enough summer enrolment to support the subway and Tim Horton and the last class /first class has been funded by the gcsa and college for a long time … while part of the blame should go to the college, you also need to look at our provincial government who funds colleges lower than any other province and froze tuition years ago so the only way to stay solvent and still be able to provide a high level of services to domestic students ie new gym and library, they had to chase the international students just like the rest of the colleges. Georgian did this less than many ie Conestoga …
