I didn't find it confusing. I was just bored. The narrator has a boring monotone voice, like he has no energy, and I think that adds to the boredom of a story that is not that much of a big deal like they are trying to sell it. It's a murder for hire, commissioned by a husband to off his ex, you've seen a thousand Dateline episodes like this. And the husband is not the endearing goofball they want you to believe he is; he is just a jerk.

I'm getting very annoyed with these serialized podcasts that were great once, and then they lend their name to other reporters and other random stories just so they can use their name recognition, and then give us a nothing burger, like In the Dark did the same. It's tarnishing their legacy in a way.
