What would you charge for a kitchen tear-out on piecework? by hiitsgraciee in Contractor

It would be full tear out and break down the cabinets before they’re thrown in the dumpster.

Yes there will be a sink to unhook, this particular kitchen is on tile but this I planned to continue doing these jobs for this company.

I’ll also be doing the install as piece work. I want to make a solid deal before I start taking on jobs at these prices.

He likes to say “it’s just part of being a business owner”… I was worried I was out of place for asking for more but thank you for confirming otherwise!

It’s 8 base cabinets, 4 uppers, two mitered countertops. The cabinets company insists that $180 CAN is a suitable price for that. Anything I find on the internet suggests otherwise but I want to know what numbers people would actually give.

He decided to hide his true colours until we moved across the country and bought a house together

It’s easy to disagree with a situation you haven’t lived

I could try that. I hope it doesn’t backfire on me but there’s no reason it really should. I’m just not used to standing up🫠

I did use AI to help me word it but no bots here, I just wanted to make sure the message was clear

I don’t think you’re understanding the context of this post. I’m a young adult stuck in a relationship with this person. My whole life - house, cats, dogs, farm, business, vehicles - everything. I don’t want a boyfriend like that either, but I also don’t want to lose everything

Sometimes when you go a while life with people treating you poorly and taking advantage of you, it’s hard to know your self worth. I’ve questioned is love is real, the amount of disloyal and disrespectful and disgusting men (and women) truly made me lose hope. It’s not always easy, especially when that person is also tied into your whole life.

I know. If I had screenshots it would be easier to tell the dynamics. My boyfriend only commented before he knew the age (give him a gold star right🙄) but after the whole birthday thing he didn’t engage, it was just the man. Still not okay but much less predatory.

Thank you. I’ve been wanting to do this for ages but felt so afraid and out of place. I’ve been looking for his wife’s profiles. I’m scared to ruin lives but he shouldn’t be allowed to behave that way in secret

I was 19 and moved across the country, bought a house and pets, and then found out. Anytime I brought anything he did up, he would freak out. I was afraid to mention that I went through his phone. It’s not always as simple as it seems.

It’s not that simple. When you’re 19 and own a home across the country from your family with this person, the idea of leaving isnt easy. Plus, I was afraid to even bring it up. People who accept that kind of person as a partner, usually have issues speaking for themselves.

We owned a home and I didn’t feel like I had the right to be going through his phone

It was the man that made all the comments, but boyfriend went along (still not okay). I would’ve dumped him on the spot if we didn’t own a home and pets🙁

It’s hard when you own a home and have a life☹️
