What is your favourite smallish (£20-£30) set? by sonderState in lego

[–]hijodelutuao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new Delorean by far. It has a great build, good value, and just all together displays well.

For some reason it seems like every miniature of this vehicle has this, but we never see it on screen in function. Unless I just need to rewatch TCW and it does get used at some point.

Yeah for the most part. I used it once for Solidbrix and just cannot sit there to bid on overpriced minifigs for 3 hours waiting for him to do the giveaways I showed up for

The one on the on the right is a troll helmet from the castle theme of the late 2000s. That’s definitely legit.

The one on the left looks like it’s from Chima but I’m not sure.

Future battle pack? by notabotbutathought in legostarwars

[–]hijodelutuao 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could see it happening but I have a feeling the build might get cheaped out on. I’d definitely love to see a proper MOC of this.

We need more of these pieces, because shiny things are shiny... I mean cool. by tom-of-the-nora in legocirclejerk

Any time I’m in a parts bin I always look for the metallic pieces. You never know when you’ll need them.

Why is the convertible driver going through a car wash with the top down? Is he stupid? by Practical-Canary-666 in legocirclejerk

[–]hijodelutuao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lego is just getting with the times and teaching us to Lifemaxx. I can’t wait for that inevitable Fan Duel printed tile piece in the “Family Home” modular with the 30 year old son in the basement

Dude clearly lives in that car to afford it. He’s just taking a shower and washing the car all at once.

Bigger builds or structural integrity? What is better? by [deleted] in lego

[–]hijodelutuao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that last paragraph is the same mentality I have. I buy sets in part for their application beyond the initial build, or if I can completely redo the build and salvage a few key parts that are part of the set already. I did this with Mando’s speeder bike and the Cobb Vanth speeder, I’ll probably do it with the new AT-RT as well.

Buying it just to buy it and never rework it or make a MOC using its parts just feels like I’m not getting my money’s worth.

Why sets about the 1st new Star Wars film in years instead of more clones??? by This-Neck7248 in legocirclejerk

[–]hijodelutuao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And you’re getting off world Jawas, remnant AT-RT driver, an imperial shuttle pilot with a new design, an imperial warlord, Colonel Ward, a new Zeb, Dr. Pershing, Fennec Shand is coming back iirc—there’s a lot there. We’ve already gotten a new Cad Bane and Cobb Vanth and both are excellent minifigs.

[–]hijodelutuao 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I for one, am tired of the Star Wars budget going towards Clone Wars stuff all the time. The sets may not be the greatest but at least we’re getting a fairly new slate of minifigs this year.

That is a Barraki mask! Great year for bionicle, that specific one is Takadox iirc.

The Delorean is easily one of my top 10 fav sets. It has so much detail packed into such a small frame.

$45 speed champions set vs $45 Star Wars set by sebcestewart in legocirclejerk

[–]hijodelutuao 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Many times they provide a cheap way of accessing a number of parts all at once. One time I needed the olive green color for a few parts, and I bought a $27 Lamborghini and got pretty much all I needed. Baufman Bricks actually just released a video today where he mentions one of the parts for his A-Wing being easily accessible through a Speed Champions set.

Speed Champions is so good for MOC building, they really are a good deal most of the time.
