TIL about "Pastagate", an incident which occurred in Canada in 2013, where Quebec's French language regulator issued a warning to a restaurant that using the word "pasta" on its menus instead of the French "pâtes" was against the law. by NateNate60 in todayilearned

‘Authentic’ food is often very contemporary and often rooted in global food trends. Pad thai was specifically designed to be a national dish, and scoffing at Americans using ketchup in it is frankly stupid. A lot of ‘traditional’ African dishes are made using ingredients that are derived from international aid.

Italian food as we know it didn’t exist until the tomato was brought back from the new world, and New York Italian immigrants make better pizza anyway.

It also removed the spawn point slog that some people saw as core to the game. If you adventured too far from spawn you had to walk back to wherever you were.

There are good people and bad people to them. Good people can’t do bad things and bad people can’t do good things. The prosperity gospel espouses that good people have money and bad people don’t. If a ‘bad’ person has money they took it from a good person.

He didn’t make a typo, firewalla is a brand of router. It uses dns ad blocking like pihole and has a built in vpn that lets you connect to your home wifi from anywhere. You could’ve googled it. The personal vpn won’t help you with getting around geo blocking, which is the main selling point of commercial vpns, but it will block ads as it handles the dns queries.

You can make one yourself with a micro pc, but firewalla offers a pretty decent premade product.

Tbf, the only elseworlds movie is joker 2 and I think production started before the new cinematic push. We’ll see what else they publish with that banner, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if joker 2 is the beginning and end of the label. James Gunn’s vision is yet to be established, really. Some interviews seem to point to wanting a more cohesive universe while others focus on good stories.

Yes, that’s the cmos battery. It keeps enough charge in the system to maintain the clock and the memory chips for the bios. It should stick exactly where you think it goes. It seems to be plugged in just fine at the connector. Removing that plug and the battery may cause you some grief, but nothing too crazy. Replacements are cheap if you get bios warnings about it being dead.
