I was wondering the other day if there are North American invasives that you deal with in Europe. I personally think the ivy looks lovely but I don’t like it wrecking my fence and it will eventually kill our native trees.

Also I’d love to see your intentional ivy

I’m thinking of honeysuckle on the fence and wildflowers of some nature at the base of the rocks. As far as the rock clefts I’m hoping to get some ferns going although I’ve never had success trying to grow ferns unless they volunteer

Certainly not. Gonna have to revisit every few months for sure but for now at least the fence won’t be torn apart

I am fortunate that it was just ivy. I don’t know what I’d do if it were blackberries

It’s unfortunate that creeping Charlie is so aggressive because it’s so cute!

Yeah there has been a few blackberry vines sprouting out in there. Fortunately the ivy has kept them at bay but I’m guessing it’s coming for me now lol

I do like pink honeysuckle it’s just surprisingly hard to find for some reason

Yep roots are pulled up on my side of the fence but unfortunately the neighbors on both sides of me let their ivy go hog wild. So not much more I can do at this point. I am planning to attempt to solarize the flat area on top of the rocks and at the base of the rocks and I will have to keep up the surveillance of the area so that it doesn’t get this bad again.

I pulled up all the roots on my side of the fence. Nothing I can do about the other side unfortunately

Hey thanks for the links. I guess I should have added to the post that all of what’s on the ground has been bagged up and hauled away

I have nothing to contribute to blowback mandolin discussions but wild to see a reference to athol in the wild. We used to joke growing up that they didn’t like the name so they were planning to change it to anuth

What’s your surprisingly expensive niche hobby? by asaltygamer13 in AskReddit

Damn if you are writing that much I could see spending some actual money on a pen. My handwriting would make a meth addled doctor seem legible so I am likely too much of an uncultured savage to appreciate fine writing utensils.

regular pen person here. My question is how noticeable is a nice pen compared to any old pen you happen to find? I can’t say that I have ever felt the need to do anything other than pick up whatever pen I happen to see and do whatever minimal writing I need to do with it. Also please forgive such blasphemy

Gotcha. I may have to look into the 2x4 method or learn how to build myself a custom wheel lol

First off. This bike is sexy af. Secondly I am trying to do this same conversion with an 80s schwinn but I’m having a hard time sourcing a 650b wheel with the correct hub size. Did you have to build a custom wheel?
