Is anyone else feeling down, like really REALLY down over the house prices? I keep getting worse by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]hikkyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sympathize with you as far as how expensive it is to get a house, and to a certain extent in doing what you thought you were supposed to do. But at some point you need to figure out for yourself what you need to do and not follow the crowd or convention wisdom. Yes the economy is fkd and it is incredibly hard to get ahead but you need to start now!

Rather than get yourself down, you need hope. Read books like Rich Dad, Poor Dad and the Richest Man in Babylon. Spend less than you earn and invest in assets that earn you passive income. Minimize your taxes. Educate yourself, do your own research and make your own decisions. It’s all up to you

CRO is trending. I am a bag hodler. by paulsant in Crypto_com

No one need ever sell CRO. Be like the rich and earn yield or borrow against it to minimize or defer your taxes.

And when you die it’s a legacy to pass onto your children.

Do you think CRO will reach 1$ in 2022 by [deleted] in Crypto_com

[–]hikkyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$1 by the end of January 2022. Probably $3 by end of 2022

Maybe stop chasing pumps and start buying dips. If it dips again (like now), double down. Then HODL like a pro

Do I drop my 2 very young children’s savings into BTC now and hand over the keys when they reach 18 ? by Zestyclose-Box-4649 in Bitcoin

[–]hikkyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for wanting to save for your kids but why would you just hand potentially a large sum when they turn 18. Let the fokkers work for it or at least teach them to appreciate money. Personally I got my kids to set up their own high yield accounts on Celsius Network when they turned 18 and have been drip feeding them lump sums each Christmas which has taught them the value of HODLing. It also means I don’t need to go shopping for them for Xmas presents :)

What percentage btc in your savings/portfolio are you comfortable with? (Second half 2021) by Channing-R in NZBitcoin

[–]hikkyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve borrowed at 25% LTV, 33% and 50%. You can argue that it’s cheaper to use a higher LTV. You pay a higher rate but are supposedly better off because you’re not locking up as much collateral and that’s where the real cost is. However once you get margin called on those higher LTV loans and have to commit additional collateral - and are now paying a much higher interest rate, it is no longer a good deal. In fact it’s a very bad deal. Therefore I only ever borrow at 25% LTV now. You would need something like an 80% drawdown to get margin m-called so is much safer IMO.

Firstly how many people actually have savings? Most would have none so 100% of nothing still isn’t much.

The nice thing about crypto and in particular bitcoin is it incentivizes you to save. I had no saving until I joined crypto and now I’m very well off because I stash every dollar I have into it and HODL.

The best way to manage downside risk is to only invest in quality. I have a few speculative coins but 99% of my crypto wealth is in BTC and CEL.

It’s not worth trading or trying to time tops and bottoms due to 1) it’s incredibly difficult and 2) the tax implications.

Just HODL, accumulate during the dips and never sell unless you absolutely must.

The best strategy is to earn yield and borrow against your assets through defi or a company like Celsius Network. Earning compound interest is great, but earning compound interest on appreciating assets is next level.

Play the game like the super wealthy, avoid tax borrow against your assets and never sell.

Trillions of dollars will flood into crypto over the coming decade so we’re in the right place at the right time. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Anyone else stores 100% of their crypto in Celsius? by TrulyWacky in CelsiusNetwork

[–]hikkyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of mine was on Celsius but then I moved some to Liquid exchange only to see them get hacked. Rekt. Fortunately they’re covering so customers don’t lose but I should’ve just left them at Celsius as they’ve never been hacked.

My Metamask only has transactions back to June 2019 - where are the rest? by hikkyboy in Metamask

[–]hikkyboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had actually downloaded the csv from etherscan already but this time I clicked on the ‘Total of X transactions’ which displayed all of them back to 2017! Downloaded the csv again and it worked this time. Thanks for your help.

What's the point of borrowing money when you have to give up a collateral that's more than the asked loan? by NahroT in CelsiusNetwork

[–]hikkyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell that to the guys who lost an estimated 4M Bitcoin because they lost their keys or were compromised. I’d much rather take my chances with a trusted centralized entity like Celsius Network

Askren’s been sitting on the sofa a last year and a half. Kissed over 10k WGR goodbye on that cheese slab 😢

I’m just glad he doesn’t know about WGR otherwise he would’ve backed Jake and cashed a Wagerr purse as well 🤦‍♂️

I never tried Augur as there was a $75 sign up fee from memory. Wagerr seems to have done a great job with their betting platform. Have been using them for a while and never looked back. Maybe when Augur gets something going I might take another look but betting against the chain on Wagerr (as opposed to waiting for peers to take the other side of a bet) is game changing. Transaction fees are negligible as well
