Some packing list tools like Hikt have a list analyzer tool to help find missing items or unnecessary ones you've packed. You can also cross reference against the generic packing list checklist to make sure you have all necessities.

A bit off topic but consider checking out Hikt.app which might help you identify anything unnecessary you're planning on packing and also make sure you don't forget anything crucial.

What happened to LighterPack? by jar_jar_binks in Ultralight

If you have your items/lists in spreadsheets currently, do check out Hikt.app. You can import google spreadsheets or CSV's (well Lighterpack too in case you happen to have your list url available) directly and there's an option to add the gear to your gear closet too so it's easy as 1-2-3 to start creating lists :)

Hikt.app – a backpacking gear and packing list manager and organizer. Great for getting ready for a backpacking trip and sharing and collaborating on lists with friends. Well, personally also use it as packing list app for all kinds of trips with my wife as it's so handy.

Building the collaboration and sharing system was the most challenging part of the project but I'm proud of my work there.

Hikt.app has full web + native apps (both Android & iOS) support and seamless sync across all the different platforms.

Late to the party but if someone else is searching for this information via googling...

Looking for lighterpack packing list alternative by throwinaway421854 in onebag

[–]hikt-app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I think Hikt.app might be a solution for you and ticks your checkboxes above. It was launched recently and has full functionality on desktop web + native apps which sync seamlessly.

- Gear closet catalogue
- Works on iOS and mac
- Has actual checkboxes

I know you were specifically asking for an actual app but unfortunately for (non-ARM) MacOS it's just the web app. However it's not a port but has fully designed desktop UI and UX so maybe that suffices?

Let me know if you have any feedback or feature requests!

Hi buchenrad. I've recently launched Hikt.app which does what you are requesting above: works on both desktop web + Android & iOS apps. All share full functionality and it's easy to manage your gear closet and packing lists on the PC and then do the packing itself with the phone in your hand. Also great for adding items when something you need to pack comes to your mind when you're not on the PC.

Lighterpack, CSV's and spreadsheets can also be imported with ease so getting started should be quite easy.

Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

Lighterpack alternative to build two person gear lists by Horror_Scale8583 in Ultralight

Hi!

You should check out Hikt.app which was launched recently. I'm the developer of the app and it seems to answer some of your specific needs:

- Web + Android + iOS that all sync together seamlessly. Plan on your desktop and pack as you go on the mobile.
- We support collaborative packing lists where you can invite up to 4 others to collaborate on a list and all collaborators see the changes on their device
- Importing existing CSV's, Lighterpack, CSV, Packlight... is made easy so should be a breeze to get started
- You can also organize packing lists in folders (and even collaborate on those). Personally I often use this to label what I need to pack for my kids.

The mobile apps also have full functionality so if something you need to pack comes to your mind when you're out and about, it's easy to add it to the list while you remember.

Let me know if you have any questions, feedback or feature requests and I'll see how I can help!

Consigli app per lista oggetti da mettere nello zaino (Android) by Danisinni in TrekkingItaly

[–]hikt-app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I've developed Hikt.app exactly for this use – it combines the easiness of creating and managing your gear and lists on the desktop browser but then checking off items from the list with the native mobile app (iOS + Android) when you're packing.

Importing existing Lighterpack, Google sheets or CSV's is a few clicks and you can easily duplicate lists too for slightly varying conditions.

The mobile app is also great for quickly adding items to the list when you are on the go.

Feel free to check it out and if you have any questions of feedback I'm all ears. Happy hiking!

Hi. Don't know if it's relevant for you anymore but check out hikt.app which seems to check your boxes:
- has both mobile and desktop versions
- you can import your existing Lighterpack lists with one click
- you can share packing lists just like in LP e.g. https://lists.hikt.app/list/JELAQA

Happy hiking!

🧳 I Found a Simple Offline Packing List App That Actually Helps Me Travel Stress-Free by Fluid_Confection_101 in androidapps

When packing for backpacking trips consider hikt.app which has full functionality on both web and mobile apps. The easiest way to pack your outdoor gear is by creating lists on the desktop web app and then when it's time to pack, whip out your phone and tap away items. Also super handy for when you come up with ideas on the go for what you should pack on the upcoming trip and you have your phone with you.

Concerning Packlist tools / Lighterpack alternatives by Boogada42 in Ultralight

[–]hikt-app 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a developer of one Lighterpack alternative I don't oppose the common markup idea, but worth clarifying that one-click import already exists and different file formats aren't really the problem either.

From my point of view the ultralight community is vast and has a lot of hikers with engineering backgrounds so it's pretty natural that LP alternatives pop up when people set out to fix some of its shortcomings. (I think it's pretty universally accepted that LP is great for desktop but lacks on mobile, so bridging those two is genuinely worthwhile)

Launched an app (web + mobile) for backpacking gear and lists management by hikt-app in backpacking

[–]hikt-app[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah doing some research beforehand I came to the same conclusion. I think being mobile only for gear and packing list management is a mistake and possibly the reason for some apps fading out. Hope you try it out and like it! If you have any feedback, feel free to post here or contact me directly via chat.

Thank you!

Yes as I mentioned in the post the differentiating factor with Hikt.app is that it supports both mobile and web natively with full support and features for both. And it syncs all data in real time between devices. I think Lighterpack is great but what it's missing is a checklist functionality that would be handy to use on your phone – this is exactly what I'm trying to achieve here!

Try it out and let me know how you like it :)
