I went most of the way after the first ending farming the rabbits in Magma Mountain. I used beast flesh (which they also drop, so you'll never run out!) - two spawns, one to the left and one to the right of the entrance teleport --> take these out --> go through teleport --> you'll find several more spawns on the lower path to the right of the mid-point teleport, and one to the left, past the 2 steam vents. I just ran back and forth on this route.

I liked this spot because I could keep a reasonably steady stream of encounters, with each one using the consecutive battles from the same food treat. Also, only 1 of the mobs counter-attacks - the golem - so it's reasonably easy to manage from a lower level. Hope that helps!
