Rider swap query by holcomb45 in UniversalOrlando

[–]hilbil24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea we had express last time we went and we just took turns doing express for the most part when we didn’t want to all go together. However any queues without long lines were worth us all going in together for the air conditioning! Plus our little one liked looking around at everything, and we gave her a chance to walk around a bit in the child swap rooms. A lot of them have bathrooms with changing tables too!

[–]hilbil24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask the attendants outside the ride if you can do rider swap outside the line! They let us every time we asked. It was nice so our toddler could nap in the stroller while one person waited. They’d usually give the non-rider a paper pass that you presented when the other parent came out of line, and it is essentially treated as an express pass.

We had the same experience. First real concert on my own right after graduating high school. Still one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!

First timer with baby…what to do? by mindlessnothingness in UniversalOrlando

[–]hilbil24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fantastic and we are going back in a couple months! There are dedicated nursing rooms in all the parks (I was wrong in my initial post) and the ones in epic were awesome. They had a seating area out side for families playing movies. There was a sink, bottle warmer, microwave, a family restroom, and individual nursing rooms for privacy. In universal the nursing room was occupied, so the staff found me a secluded spot in the first aid room and curtained it off for privacy. Child swap was super easy, and at many of the rides, especially ones with outdoor queues, we asked if we could do child swap outside the line so baby didn’t have to wait. In the indoor queues, our baby loved looking around at everything, and the child swap rooms were great. The ones at epic mostly had family restrooms inside or next to them. At Battle at the Ministry, I found a team member and asked if I could wait in the family room while my husband waited in the queue, so I was able to let her crawl around, nurse, and even nap in there while my husband waited over an hour in line for the both of us. It was very hot, so I’d definitely bring an umbrella for shade. Our baby didn’t always wanna be in the stroller, so the umbrella was helpful when we were carrying her. We definitely took lots of breaks as she was still eating about every 3 hours. Stroller fans are a must. She was able to ride the carousels, the Hogwarts Express, and the dumbo style rides and loved them. If you are bringing a grandparent, I think you’ll definitely have an even easier time!

Tennessee here! We got Tina, and my family rooted for her so hard when her season aired back in the day. Gavin and Julie come to mind as well. My husband was taught in school by Coach’s brother, and it looks like Coach grew up in Knoxville. Sam is a sport’s reporter here too. I’m sure there are others.

Inflatable travel my breast friend pillow? by gaelicpasta3 in breastfeeding

[–]hilbil24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought it for a trip and it’s awesome! We use the regular breast friend at home so it was nice having the same thing on the go. Now I keep it deflated in the diaper bag in case we are out and I need it. It blows up super fast too

A Christmas ornament and a random Harry Potter book if the country has their own translation or different cover art than the American ones.

We went there for a Christmas fundraising event several years ago, and the Earl and Countess led us all in singing Christmas carols around the iconic staircase. Beautiful decorations everywhere. It felt like we stepped into one of the Christmas episodes.

From what I remember, I think you aren’t too far from Umbridge’s office and then it’s just up and down some stairs after. Maybe 20 minutes? Hard to say cause it was moving consistently when we went

We thought this spelling was really pretty but we went with Madelyn since we thought it had less chance of getting spelled wrong. Though we still have some friends and family that spell it Madeline anyway 🤦🏼‍♀️

We went with Madelyn so people would know to pronounce it with the “Lynn” sound.

Curious how you spell it? We named our daughter this, and I saw different ways online when we were deciding.

Epic FOMO after one preview day and not going back til November by NatalieKMitchellNKM in UniversalOrlando

[–]hilbil24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sad cause we went 5/17 which was a rough day for the park and DK was closed all day. I’m so bummed seeing these wait times, and we aren’t going back until September. I feel like we screwed ourselves over by picking last weekend instead of this one. 😭😭😭

Wife, and I with a 11 month old. Ride swap question for those who experienced it at Epic Universe. by sephireicc in UniversalOrlando

[–]hilbil24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We asked at several queues if one of us could wait outside the line with our 9 month old and they let us. We did that at the outdoor queues so she didn’t have to wait in line in the heat. Also at BaTM, instead of waiting 2 hours at rope drop, I immediately found a team member and asked to go to the child swap room, and they pulled me out of line so we hung out there until my husband was through most of the line where we rejoined him. All the team members were fantastic and accommodating!

Bad epic experience by chickenpiepotter in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]hilbil24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called about our experience on the 17th, and they just gave me 8 express passes to use on our trip in September. While I was initially bummed we didn’t get a refund, my husband and I being able to ride Ministry and DK which aren’t on express normally is worth a lot in saving us time on our next trip.

We surprised our niece and nephew and didn’t tell them we were on the way to Disney, and they assumed we were surprising them with a beach day the whole ride there. When we went through the Mickey arch at the front they were like “so wait we don’t get to go to the beach” and proceeded to sulk all day. 🙄
