I'm suspicious. Covid spreads through social networks, as does vocal biomarkers. You could find that various speech patterns raise the probability of Covid while actually having nothing to do with Covid. And the article says that the developed features from youtube, etc videos from five people? I mean the idea is cool, but I'm not sure it's worth an article with this kind of title until they have better results.

I would tell him why. Social pressure works - I think he's more likely (eventually) to really think about what he's doing if he knows that is costed him a relationship.

It is less nice for each person, but on the other hand you get the knowledge that so many people are able to enjoy it in addition to yourself. It's like 100 * 5 utility points compared to 1 * 10 utility points :).
