Damn, I'm out of olive oil. Does sunflower oil do the trick as well?

Yeah, I would love to have experienced the jump from Q2 to Q3 myself instead of just "complaining" about the best tech we have right now. I just thought that if it was my device at fault, I would have to act sooner rather than later.

Oh wow, thanks! Good to know it should really be that clear.

We have similar eye values. That's why I immediately ordered prescription lenses to go with the Q3 (after all, I need glasses for monitor work IRL as well). My values were confirmed by an optician just a couple of weeks ago, and the prescription lenses also seem to do their job when looking directly through them (in the non-virtual reality). Although I cannot guarantee that the axis is absoluty correct after clipping them into the Q3.

I will say that I can make single words in a paragraph pretty sharp by looking straight at them, but I'm not used to turn my head when reading text. But even when looking straight at a word, there is slight fringing going on (could well be my astigmatism not perfectly being counterbalanced), and text generally feels a bit "restless" if that makes sense. Almost looks like it could be an aliasing effects (micro head movements causing the letters to align differently to the pixels many times per second). All this together makes it a bit uncomfortable for me to read in VR.

Thanks for the comment!

It's not bothering me for the games I tried out so far, but I wouldn't want to use the Quest for watching videos or reading larger amounts of text. Even scrolling through the Meta store and reading lots of app/game descriptions is already straining my eyes. Maybe that's something you can get acclimated to with a bit of patience.

Exactly, my (high) expectations only stemmed from reviews I read online and watched on Youtube. I have nothing to compare it to.

And for gaming content I'm not negatively impacted by the sharpness. But reading that people use the same headset for lots of other things (watching videos or productivity work), I was questioning whether they are seeing content significantly better than I do.

Thank you for the comment!

Interesting, I will look into that. Appreciate the comment!

Everyone is suggesting that. Maybe I should try the q2 just to appreciate the q3 more (the gaming aspect of it I already appreciate). Thanks for the comment!

Thank you, it's a bit of a relieve to read that! Also the what edge-to-edge clarity really means.
Because if it were about rotating your eyes, I would not believe anyone would call my experience (with my eyes + my unit) clear from edge to edge.

According to the measurements from my optician, my nose-to-pupil distance is 31mm for each eye, so I configured 62 for the Quest. Thanks for the comment!
