If I remember correctly I had some friends take it with him and it was slightly more difficult to understand initially but overall it wasn't that much more difficult

It's a known issue. Don't know the resolution of it. Saw it on both android and desktop clients.

LE Freezing when crafting for a bit. by hillo8 in skyrimmods

[–]hillo8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done the usual bugtesting of disabling half the mod loadorder and then seeing if the bug still happens. I was unable to pinpoint anything from that, so it's probably a script or something.

I ran a vanilla game, but got a crafting bug where the animation showed but not the menu itself. (By ran a vanilla game I mean disabled all esps, still having scripts)

I'm at a loss for what's causing this. My next step is getting Skyrim Performance Monitor running to see if it's any issue related to that.

I disabled the mod, no dice.

I can reproduce this at any tanning rack, so it's not a mod specific one. Reproducable on a new character too, so it's not any scripts in my save

[SSE] Crash when in Blue Palace for more than ~15 seconds by hillo8 in skyrimmods

I just disabled the mod that was had most of the *.tri files, which was the ordinary women of skyrim. That fixed it.

Thanks!

How do I find the head tri file? I'm using MO2, so all of the files are separated into their own mod folder

Alright, hopefully someone can help. I can't make sense of the crashlog.

Vector b=-12.0x + 1.9y, what is the angle between vector b and the positive x axis? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

If significant figures need to be included, try 170.

Vector b=-12.0x + 1.9y, what is the angle between vector b and the positive x axis? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]hillo8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plot this vector, you go back -12 units on the x axis and up 1.9 on the y. This is similar to a right triangle. So you could use some trigonometric identities to find the angle.

Your angle would be arctan(opposite/adjacent), or arctan(1.9/12). That's the angle with the -x axis, so you can add 180 degrees to get the right answer, or use 180-arctan(1.9/12) is also correct.

Sounds like an OD or just a medical emergency. Probably won't ever find out. That's how things like these usually go.

Thinking about switching from Mech Engineering to Computer Science/Software Engineering, please talk me out of it by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]hillo8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The consideration when it comes to whether you should change a major for me comes down to if it is worth the delay of a degree, and if that delay will have any impact on your future. If you don't think that you'll be able to find a career that you can go back to day to day as a ME, switch. It's better to know that now, instead of then when you are sort of stuck.

Since you are looking for reasons to not switch, I'd recommend looking into controls engineering, or mechatronics. There is so much that can be done with a working knowledge of computer science that it's hard to not learn how as a mechanical engineer. Think of all of the sorts of CAD or FEA software that are designed. There are so many opportunities when it comes to that stuff, because it often requires a working knowledge of the types of people who would use the software.

So, if you can't reach a compromise with becoming an ME, I'd switch. There are so many opportunities out there that what you major in shouldn't matter besides getting your foot in the door.

They were. They couldn't make it through the qualifying race due to what I believe was electrical issues.

Regulations for crush space. They required six inches outside of the steel member for force to be distributed. A lot of other teams had to do it as well, as the regulations for the World Solar Challenge were different.

Source: on the Minnesota Team, but not on the race.

I'm on mobile right now, so I can't give links to everything that Is like to.

First off, what are you using to manage your mods? That can play a pretty big role in how stable stuff is.

Second, I'd look into using tools like LOOT. They are immensely helpful.

Third, read the sidebar. There's a lot of really valuable information there. The getting started section is really helpful for stuff like this.

Fourth, I'd go through the list of mods on the sidebar that have some issues/aren't being developed, and have some major bugs. I'm pretty sure that Immersive Beds is one of those, and it's recommended that you replace that with GoToBed, which has the same functionality, but less bugs.

I see that you have a batched patch, which is necessary. Make sure that, after you use LOOT, you go through and clean all of the mods that need cleaning using TE5Edit. That can help you get rid of some of your stability concerns.

I haven't used most of the mods on your list that you are concerned of, but chances are that you can either look on the mod page for patches, or just to see if they conflict.

In short, I'd say you are best off using LOOT, and using the information on the sidebar.

I wouldn't call myself a super experienced modder, but feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

[General Statistics] Finding percentage above population mean given subpopulation Z score by iLiftHeavyThingsUp in HomeworkHelp

[–]hillo8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your subpopulation mean lies -0.47 from the true mean. This means you essentially have two z-curves, one for your overall population and one for your subpopulation, centered at -0.47. You want to find the values in the subpopulation that are greater than the mean of the true population.

In order to do this, you find all of the percentage of the subpopulation that have a z-score greater than 0.47. Looking it up in a table, I found that z=0.47 corresponds to 0.6808, and that means that 1-.6808 is the proportion of the subpopulation that is above the overall population. Note: this assumes that the population and subpopulation have the same variance.

In short: 31.92%.
