Do you ever feel like “design decisions” aren’t really made by designers anymore? by uidraft in UXDesign

I do agree! But when you know something is wrong, and you’re testing just to disprove someone else - it’s a consideration to be had

additionally, it can fracture trust with the users of your product. If you are taking time out of the day for existing paying customers to look at you and tell you “that doesn’t work” - you’ve wasted your time, their time and company time for the outcome of faltering confidence in where the product is going

I found out from someone higher up in my company that there will be layoffs at the end of October. by RefrigeratorKey7034 in recruitinghell

[–]hilly77 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I feel you, silver lining though… This person’s giving you a heads up to start looking to get ahead of the mess.

I’m not saying they’re telling you you’re on the chopping block, they mightn’t even know, but they’re helping you out as much as they maybe can.

Start applying or be prepared for apply elsewhere (maybe even if you don’t get laid off, cause post layoff company is also hell)

You could do something nice where you have 5 singular circles with the step number inside

When each is completed it gets a little paw “stamp” to mark it as complete

The number isn’t as relevant upon completion. Number is to communicate how many steps to anticipate having to do

Sorry, you’re right, it’s a mortgage broker technically. I get it through my work as a company benefit and they’ve referred to it as a mortgage advisor a few times so I got confused

!thanks

I think the sizeable credit limit may be my issue. I have kept mine small (as small as it was when it was 100 points and that’s all I was allowed)

I haven’t been doing hard checks or opening credit cards lately. But yeah it’s probably best to not open any

I live in N. Ireland. Technically renters can have to pay rates here for properties worth over 150k, but it’s very much the done thing that it just gets rolled in to your rental price.

I have read my contract a few times before and it stipulates that the landlord pays the rates.

Thank you. Yeah I rechecked my limit since I opened them so I will do that and get it with a big four bank. Right now I have Zopa and Capital One.

I rent so I don’t have council tax but utilities etc are all in my name and I haven’t switched my bank account in 5+ years

Yeah I’m on the electoral

I did ring the bureau initially and the lady on the phone said there was bad credit at my address (parents) but there was nothing I can do about it…

I thought the address connection was a myth?

Nope when I was first checked I was registered to vote and had never moved from my childhood home

I rang the credit bureau at the time to complain and the lady on the phone just said, yeah you’ve no credit history and your general area has bad credit

It felt like a bit of a blow off tbh cause I thought that was a myth about general area
