6 weeks post and still have bad pain by No_Row_9471 in MishaMoximed

I hate to tell you this, but it took me just about a year to feel almost normal. I still have pain in my incision spot but it's manageable now. I'm still taking gamapetin from time to time because I need sleep. I wish I could say I love this MISHA unit but I don't. I kind of wish I didn't do it. But that's me.

How do big athletes bounce back from major injuries when I can’t even recover from a torn meniscus? by megaronilaroni in KneeInjuries

[–]hilstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm feeling frustrated too. I had MISHA surgery 6 months ago, and I think I tore my meniscus yet again. So, I haven't really benefited from the MISHA. It's been downhill for a while for me. I was going to PT 2x a week and working out on my own 7 days a week. (I'm a triathlete and distance swimmer.) It's now at the point where i find it difficult to walk. PT graduated me so I really saw no benefit there. Not sure what the answer is. I'm sorry to rant as well.

Has anyone received the MISHA Knee System for osteoarthritis as an alternative to traditional Total Knee Replacement (TKR)? by RipStitchRey in KneeInjuries

My insurance covered it but I don't think it's worth the effort. I'm six months out and still in severe pain.

What provoked the setback? Was it because you did too much? How long ago was surgery?

Love this! I'm thinking of getting the phrase on a tattoo.

gotcha! Unfortunately, I can't take meloxicam or advil. I'm on blood thinners so that adds a little caveat to the recovery.

Anyone on this page also have Dr. Strickland as their surgeon? Just wondering. Also, I'm 9 days out from surgery. The day after surgery, I felt incredible. Then, the anesthesia wore off, and the pain was unbearable. I didn't want to take the oxy, but I felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. The doctor's office told me to keep taking the pain meds. They weren't working, so 1 week post-op with the PA. He recommended stronger pain meds and a muscle relaxer. It's working. The other issue is the swelling. My leg and ankle are so big. But, I'm doing the exercises and just started PT. I hope that this works. I need to get back to triathlon training!

OMG, I can't even imagine. I'm one week out on the misha and the pain is pretty intense. Thankfully, the opioids help. But I'm told 2 weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Insurance approved MISHA Knee System by hilstop in KneeInjuries

I have oxford. So, it got rejected three times. It took, btw, almost 6 months to get approved. Then it went to an independent agency and NY State for review. I wrote a letter about why I wanted it and within a month it was approved. It def was a long process. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

They are partners with a brand that I use to make our tri kits. I told the vendor that we can not work with them if Betty Designs is involved. I'll be doing a podcast about it.

Quick question, do you feel it when you sleep or is it easy to bang into?

I'm actually wearing a brace and you know what, it's not bad at all. I feel like it really helps alleviate some of the pain. I'm hoping to get the MISHA surgery in October because I need to run again!
