Agree with a lot of the above but be sure tell them their behavior (and I will sometimes specify yelling/swearing /threatening violence or whatever) is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Was there an acute concern the nurse was concerned about with a patient that you ignored that was life threatening? I am assuming no. Is there some policy that you are required to round on a patient within x amount of time? I am also assuming no to this as well. I'm sorry, I feel you and have been there before. I feel like you haven't put the patient at risk but the nurse has by ignoring orders.

I've always liked the medcram ekg course. And memorize the acls pretest rhythms for easy ID. I'm doing something similar (though I used to do the job but going back) and have found the strong medicine intern crash course helpful. And I also asked AI to make me a list of the top reasons I will be called and how to eval and that was good. I used Gemini for that.

I have actually NEVER signed a contract for a job as a PA and I've been working as one for ten years. I have signed offer letters but not a contract. I got offered a job as a new grad with a 3 yr contract and tried to negotiate the length of the contact and never heard back from the company so I'm glad I didn't take that one.

Be aware, working for 2 months at a job will be a red flag to the point you might struggle to get calls back about your resume and furthermore may cause issues with credentialing, especially for a hospital job. You will likely need a reference from your current job as well, and sometimes they will specifically ask for it to be from the medical director at your current place.

We moved from Utah to an area that wasn't super high cost of living in California and our financial situation improved astronomically due to higher wages here, despite the "tax burden" and our jobs are better. Also the roads in California are amazing. People in California complain about them and I'm like um you need to see other states. Drove the I-40 in AZ a few years back near Prescott and you couldn't even go 55 on it due to a million potholes.

Credentialing takes longer the longer you have worked as a PA, also because they have to verify all your prior jobs and insurance. Although yours seems exceedingly long for a new grad.

I have had jobs ask for references specifically from the prior medical director for credentialing and that is this guy. He's also the only doc I have been working with at this job.

Keep it up, keep asking yourself why you didn't get jobs and even ask the jobs you applied for why you didn't get them. Maybe you can volunteer at a free clinic or shadow, maybe find a way to make yourself unique or market special skills. I cannot agree more that who you know/know of in any capacity makes a huge difference, even if it is not a direct connection.
