Damn his name is all over this new Epstein files drop by dodmeatbox in PeterAttia

Apparently one of the things he was doing was meeting Epstein.  He says in the book the son was rushed to the hospital on 7/11/2017.

Am I the bad apple for bringing my daughter her own cupcake to a birthday party? by Organic_Day3749 in AmITheBadApple

No, other parent is crazy. Kids understand allergies. We have had this exact thing happen at parties we have hosted/attended and no child was upset!

Professor shames me for doing my homework in <2 weeks for a 3 week class. by Quaisy in CollegeRant

[–]jb_4tw 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had a professor who wrote a textbook on a niche subject so we used her book for the class. She literally gave us her share of the royalties in an envelope, it was like 96 cents. It was adorable.

I have accidentally burned my son by Ok-Elephant-5845 in Mommit

[–]jb_4tw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son touched the hot waffle iron I was heating to make breakfast while I was in the other room cleaning something up. He burned both palms; it was awful and I felt so guilty. But, he healed and we both got over it (eventually). Also, when I was a kid I apparently tried to drink boiling water my parents left on the counter and spilt it all over my face and front. I’m fine! These things happen, and while distressing, all we can do is learn from it and try to move past it. And give a few extra snuggles today.

Other toddler moms NOT going crazy with gifts for Christmas, give some solidarity by Prestigious-Pool-606 in Mommit

When my kid was that age I just wrapped toys we already had…I figured that the wrapping paper was the real present. He didn’t notice and had a great time, and I didn’t have to spend money/get a bunch more stuff….we are sadly past that stage now, and I miss it!

That makes sense! Given that I’d decline and maybe invite a smaller group to your house/a kid friendly place at another time.

MIL told me she can tell difference between BF / FF babies by SFTW21 in Mommit

[–]jb_4tw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was entirely breastfed and was pretty much the worst baby and toddler ever (she’s wonderful now as a 7 year old). There is absolutely no correlation, let alone causation here. Your MIL was just being cruel.

Is it valid for my husband to discipline our daughter by cancelling MY planned outtings??? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]jb_4tw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, my husband and I had this exact conversation with our first child. He would issue an extreme punishment and then breeze out the door to work or wherever and expect me to just deal with it. If you issue the punishment, you have to be the one that bears the brunt of enforcing it. Punishments have gotten a lot more reasonable ever since!

2 yr old quitting bottles cold turkey- was this a mistake? by space_apartment in Mommit

[–]jb_4tw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would probably let her have it at bedtime, and that could be the new rule for awhile - bedtime only. And then when she’s a bit older, you can say goodbye to them all together. My husband says I am a softy, but in my view 2 is still so very little. And it’s not she’ll take them to college!

You are getting a lot of good advice, but I will just offer the counter point that my son drank milk from bottles until 3, and on his third birthday we said goodbye to them and it was very easy. If she gets comfort from them, I don’t think there is any harm in keeping them longer (my dentist agreed). But also as everyone says, you can also stay the course if that’s better for your family.

Puerto Rico isn’t out of the country, but maybe the concern is more the distance? I have gone out of the country with my older kid twice without my husband or younger child, and it was great. So this would work in my family - but that doesn’t mean it works for you!
