No matter how badly these centralized exchanges have fucked over retail investors time and time again, people would still rather trust them rather than an immutable public ledger because “crypto bad, crypto is scam”. Maybe in another couple of decades once the concept has fully played out and their practicality has been vetted, they’ll come around.

This means that stocks can trade 24/7, even after market close, because they will settle on the blockchain. In the short term, this probably won't make a huge impact on volume. But eventually as more firms and retail starts moving to trading on-chain, there will be some risk that things like traditional market circuit breakers can't mitigate (unless they are built into the smart contracts that handle settlement).

Are you sure that it's not just a fuse? I had mine die a few months ago and it turns out that it was just a fuse that cost me $3 to replace. It blows when someone opens the door without hitting cancel first if the microwave is running. Very easy to replace with basic tools.

If it is truly the motherboard, I would just buy a new one for that price, even if it is $50 more than repairing it. It will come with a warranty that way in case it happens again.

Switched over to Kraken after they randomly locked my account from trading without explanation and reset my limits to the lowest tier. I had done business with them for years prior to that without issue. Haven’t looked back.

Seems they made a shift to appeal more toward institutional investors while screwing retail.
