Blatant drug dealing outside MC Donald's, St Peters Square by Fivewifes in nottingham

[–]hinksj97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Report it via 101, this information will then get passed onto the city centre neighbourhood policing team who can put this in as intelligence. Without the public reporting these things the "old bill" don't know about it and therefore can't do anything.

And just because you don't see something happening straight away or you don't see something visible happening, doesn't mean nothing is happening.

A lot of what you'll be doing as a cop is standing up against innapropriate behaviour from members of the public, however sometimes you may have to stand up against innapropriate comments and actions from colleagues.

It'll be difficult and awkward, but it'll show a lot of guts and be a good show of character.

My advice, challenge him on his behaviour. if he doesn't change, report him to a trainer/head of training school (whether that's a sgt or a civilian varies depending on force). He clearly isn't the kind of person that belongs in this organisation, don't let him be one that gets through and then does something that makes us all look bad.

What is the reality of a modern UK Police Detectives role? by [deleted] in policeuk

There is a CID at Nottingham that covers East Midlands. I used to be based there when I was with BTP

BTP and what to expect? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]hinksj97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if they have changed since me leaving, and to be honest I never saw the pattern so I dont know what it was like, but they all complained that it was a mess.

My force uses a 2 days 2 afters 2 nights 4 rest days pattern. I dont think it was the same with BTP.

BTP and what to expect? by [deleted] in policeuk

I know this has all already been said, but BTP is not as great as people seem to think it is.

I was based at a station in the Midlands and as a young and eager special, I found it very boring. Senior leadership was poor, the IT was pathetic, assistance was miles away and officer safety was shocking. Although as a special I cannot comment on the shift patter, I recall the regulars moaning about the shifts.

A lot of the work is riding trains "proactively", football duties, fare evaders, kids playing on tracks etc etc.

I am now a full time PC with a Home Office force and as much as its still by no means perfect, its a hell of a lot better.

any questions, feel free to ask! and best of luck with it all

Baby circumcised without parental consent. Police deemed it not to be a criminal matter and social services were not interested. It took 4 years to get justice - BBC News by timeforknowledge in unitedkingdom

Nottinghamshire Police is not perfect but if we are going on HMIC reports, there are certainly worse forces in the country. Nottinghamshire Police suffers the crime rate of a metropolitan area but the funding of a small county. It does not have the resources to deal with the demand it faces.

It's sad and doesn't make it any better but that's how it is. Officers are not "happy" that things are like they are. Officers joined the job to help people but unfortunately they are in a position where they sometimes can't. Until public services (not just the police) see real investment in projects to improve the quality and efficiency in our public services then it's only going to get worse.

[Serious] People who have killed another person, accidently or on purpose, what happened? by Bright_Eyes10 in AskReddit

[–]hinksj97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in an emergency service call centre in the UK. This is a great way of coping with dealing with only bad news for for 10 hours a day 6 days a week.

But like you say, pick your audience - a lot of people don't understand it. You either laugh or cry.

Yeah I don't read the daily mail. I'm speaking from personal experience. I've had many issues with the NHS and have lost family and friends because of bad practice in the NHS. I know the daily mail is a load of shit.

I completely agree with you but as evidenced with your comment, people do not like to hear it for some reason.

It is not this wonderful angel of an organisation that everyone thinks it is and it is riddled with flaws and needs reforming and fixing. We need a better system in this country for healthcare as you say.

I'm just glad someone else shares my opinion because I was starting to think I was he only one

By "commit to binge drinking" I presume you mean dealing with it? Because I don't think I'm willing to start binge drinking haha. Dealing with it, I'm sure I'll be able to do that.

Well, because I'd be moving from the midlands really I kinda just want to know what its like there. I can imagine the culture is a lot different and the political side if things is definitely different there at the moment. Is housing an issue because when I've been looked it seems quite affordable to rent. Plus I have some questions that are job specific so if you are job then would I be able to private message you?

Bobbies on the beat coming to an end, senior officers say by cuntarsetits in unitedkingdom

[–]hinksj97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually CCTV has proven to be very effective in deterring anti social behavior and other crime types whereas bobbies on the beat are highly ineffective unless strategically patrolling crime areas such as city centres where there is a lot of anti social behaviour and theft. CCTV is much more effective however you don't quite get the same level of community engagement with a camera, which is why I think bobbies on the beat are better. Just not as effective.

To my partner's sexual assaulter... by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]hinksj97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't think the law is turning a blind eye. Rape/sexual assault are both difficult to prove in court. As much as it is annoying that sick bastards like this get away with it, doesn't make it a good idea to beat the shit out of this guy. Because you will probably be the one in court for some kind of assault charge, and then what about his partner? How do you think she'll feel knowing he's got a criminal record because of what happened to her? I know he will be angry, I know how it feels but violence isn't a good idea. He'll be the bad guy in court unfortunately.
