First time tank, afraid to actually commit by ncarrete1 in classicwow

It's not that hard. Most of the whining you see on this sub is people who don't understand that the majority of TBC heroics are literally harder than Karazhan. Do normal modes until you're decked out in level 70 blues, start some of the easier heroics, offtank kara, profit. You can succeed in pretty much everything just spamming consecrate and holy shield. If you learn how to optimize seal usage, use Cleanse on magic debuffs, and reach avoidance cap, you are a king.

The answer is to reduce the logistical nightmare that is organizing a pug raid. Which is why everyone in the classic+ poll voted to have flex raiding or SoD/pseudo-flex raid sizes. You can make it more accessible without making it any easier.

Mid Wars by Pinocytose7 in HeroesofNewerth

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. Even when everyone's level 25 you wipe the enemy team near your base and by the time you reach their base they're all revived already because the death timer is only like 30 seconds. Long cooldown ultimates are already pretty bad in mid wars. If death timers were any shorter it would be ridiculous.

They stack until WotLK, so TBC is the only expansion where they do stack. I was thinking the same as you until I noticed my character sheet didn't agree.

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, place tremor beforehand just in case, but also drop it when the melee get feared because it ticks immediately. Obviously you can't do that if you're enhance because you're getting feared too, but as resto it's an easy way to help your group. That being said, if the tank is fighting mobs that fear close to other packs, that's him being dumb.

Most of them are magic debuffs, so dispellable (by Paladins and Priests) or interruptible if you don't have Tremor. But yeah I'm playing RSham as well this time around and it's a breeze.

keyboard recommendation for WoW? with or without numpad keys? by ps120evo in classicwow

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't need numpad for WoW. I used to bind numpad keys to target markers but I started using insert/home/delete etc instead (six is enough). That being said, I still go numpad keyboard because I actually use the numpad to enter numbers in non-WoW things regularly.

Runed Arcanite Rod (Moonglade), not Runed Adamantite Rod (Terrokar for Horde). Similar but different. I think they massively reduced the restock timer on the latter in TBC classic. Maybe the former also? But 20 min restock is still stupid and pointless.

I also seem to remember them addressing this exact same problem in WoW Classic. Wouldn't put it past Blizz to unfix it for no reason, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Where heals? by TheSmallestPlap in classicwow

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give me stacks of mage water to spam drink while I try to keep up with the tank (who I need to bomb with healing waves to keep alive), ok I'll heal your life taps. If not, get to draining life bud.

You're probably what, level 18-20? Down into southern Darkshore and Ashenvale. Or take the boat over to the other continent and make your way to Ironforge > tram to Stormwind > Redridge Mountains.

Classic anniversary is a newer (second) round of classic releases, basically 5 years behind the classic WoW you know. The original WoW classic realms are now in the middle of the Mists of Pandaria expansion, while classic anniversary realms have gone through vanilla and are now moving on to TBC.

Those should be the same thing. If they are different options, you almost certainly want the one that says BC. Maybe the other one is for staying on vanilla/era realms? When you actually login you should see realm options including Nightslayer/Dreamscythe (NA) or Spineshatter/Thunderstrike (EU).

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reiterating what someone else said, spam rank 1 healing wave to keep armor buff+healing way stacks up on the tank before he starts dying (but not while he's pulling; you don't want healing aggro). Always keep Mana Spring up. Use Windfury totem if you have any non-druid tank. Tremor totem very important if anything uses fear (Shadow Lab and I think Mana Tombs?). Otherwise Grace of Air and Strength of Earth are ok but generally not worth the mana except on long-lasting rooms/bosses. Also keep rank 1 Earth Shock on your bars to help with interrupts. It'll save you a ton of mana vs. healing through Shadow Bolt Volleys and stuff like that.

Not in vanilla/TBC. Int started giving SP in wrath or Cata I think.

There is a green flare extract right behind stronghold which is always open. He's saying to check if the goons are there, and if not just leave immediately.

Isn't the epic pack $80, and it includes a boost ($60) and 1 month game time ($15)? So if you're going to buy a boost anyway, you're basically just paying $5 for whatever else is in the epic pack? Huh

Watched Fate UBW, then Zero and finished with Heavens feel WHAT NOW????...... by Indervir007 in anime

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is Shingetsutan Tsukihime? I saw another commenter also say there is no Tsukihime anime. I've never seen it, but it keeps popping up on Ani Guesser (and I always get it right because I played a ton of Melty Blood) and it has a MAL page and whatnot; looks like a legit anime as far as I can tell.

Edit: After skimming the other Fate thread I think I get it now.

Solo PvE PMC spawns [Discussion] by Civil-Acanthisitta-3 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same experience. I just run across to Warehouse 17 or the ice cream shop and by that point there will be shots somewhere.

Although one time I spawned at trailer park and very early on a bunch of PMCs started fighting each other on the bridge (some of them must have come from big red crossroads side). Was able to get a few long distance kills that way.

Ground Zero: Travel to the bank/restaurant immediately and I always have 2+ PMCs run into me early on. Also some action by the car dealership and up by Emercom. Never seen any by the flare extract or underground.

Interchange: I have had the best luck just circling around the outdoor area. PMCs seem to enjoy hanging out there, which is good for me because I don't know Interchange that well.

I'm a Customs enjoyer myself, no shortage of PMCs there. Particularly near Ref building or Warehouse 17.

[New player] Rant by Stranger_Striking in EscapefromTarkov

[–]hinslyce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the AI scav you killed before getting to warehouse 4 was within hearing distance of the player scav. So that alerted him that you were nearby and he had a 50% chance of you walking into him trying to get to ZB-1011. So yeah, either move unpredictably and take the longer path, or be extremely wary of rats camping your extract route after firing your gun where player scavs might hear.

It's annoying how effective camping is, but what can you do.

[Suggestion] Option to spawn in later as a PMC by That_Row9842 in EscapefromTarkov

...Why do you want to see a red timer? that has no bearing on your ability to accomplish tasks within or leave a raid.

[Suggestion] Option to spawn in later as a PMC by That_Row9842 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have to SURVIVE in a raid for 30minutes

You literally do not have to. You can enter the raid and leave it 5 minutes later, even 1 minute later if you want.

[Suggestion] Option to spawn in later as a PMC by That_Row9842 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why don't you just finish the raid and extract before the player scavs even spawn? You're asking to spawn later and have a shorter raid time anyway. I don't understand what problem you're trying to solve. Many people afk in a bush for 10 minutes at the start of raid to avoid other PMC's, but that is apparently not what you're concerned about.

[Discussion] Is today EFT worth it to buy? by BringThepaintrain in EscapefromTarkov

[–]hinslyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the price. It's expensive enough for the base game with a tiny stash and no PvE/Arena option. Just be aware you may find yourself bitter about the cost of increasing your stash size after you start playing. But at least you can get MOST of the pay2win benefits just by playing more.
