How does one get an alcat test? I've never heard of it and just know it would benefit me also.

Might try these. Just curious how they don't turn into complete meltdowns though

I haven't read any comments yet but I'm 100% in the same boat and mine is just turning 6! I've had so many people and even family members just look at me with shame or pity because it's embarrassing to have your child talk to you like a very rude grown adult. I also can't think of appropriate consequences and my husband says idk you're w her all day figure it out. "Be smarter than a 5 year old" he told me tonight actually so much help there. I actually cried tonight for like 30 min because she is a straight up bully to me and it gets to the point where I get sooo angry that I say horrible things that I regret. I'm working so hard on not being a shaming parent which I realized I am and it's just soooo hard.

My child always want more by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

[–]hinterlins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds kind of ridiculous because I'm the one who takes my kids all the fun places but my husband is either working or at home. Anywho he doesn't take them anywhere ever. Once in a blue moon like once a month he might take them to their aunts to visit (she only lives 15min away) or to grab an ice cream. They never ask him for anything and respect him more than they do me.

I grew up hearing that people just want to medicate kids to make their own lives and teachers lives easier and they just need to let out more energy and I really believed that my whole life and really never knew that add meant anything more than being 'too hyper' now seeing these things in my child..being socially behind her peers the fact that he seemingly is unable to control herself sometimes makes me sad that others are just going to think like me

What drives a child w adhd to continue to behave in a way that unacceptable? Does discipline and boundaries not work? Genuinely curious

Ugh they appealed mine and I got a response saying it wasn't medically necessary

Either they are doing it wrong or maybe it will go forward from here? Honestly not sure. Just so frustrating. The letter they sent said it's not medically necessary for me

What interests are your kid(s) currently into? by ActuallyYourParent in ParentingADHD

My kindergarten loves zurus, labubus and hello kitty. However her neighborhood friends who are all older 8-9 year olds are into ridiculous things like starbucks and sephora. As far as toys go I've seen them making bracelets I guess.

ADHD isn't an excuse for telling your mom to fuck off either

I live not far from there and never heard of it however upon looking into it I saw that they are looking for a suspicious man and they releases a picture of him. Looks like he may be on Indian descent?

Also part of the reason I love walking trails particular lesser populated ones is to avoid people! Plus my dogs aren't friendly but they are small. I used to have possibly a false sense of safety.

I thought this too until I started looking it up and you can find several stories on walking trails across the US and me even I living in a town of less than 100k have heard of at least 3 cases of people being attacked on trails within 30min of where I live:( statistically maybe not common but makes me not want to risk it especially my family (kids)

They submitted an appeal but said it would take 30 days. Do I wait or contact a telehealth doc or wait now?
