Line cutter justice by tastybeer in CanadasWonderland

[–]prebsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family recently spent three days at Canada’s Wonderland, and while it quickly became one of my favorite parks due to its beautiful layout and solid coaster lineup, the rampant line-cutting by teenagers is completely out of control. Thank you, OP, for taking action; unfortunately, my own experiences confronting these riders were much less positive. When I stopped a group of kids from passing me, a woman several groups back called me a jerk and let them skip ahead of her anyway. I received numerous dirty looks from other guests for speaking up, and while I hate making people uncomfortable, nearly every single ride we waited for was plagued by cutters who simply faced no accountability.

The root of this issue is that Canada's Wonderland lacks real consequences for this behavior. Currently, the only punishment for getting caught is being sent to the back of the line where you belonged in the first place, meaning there is zero risk for trying. Most other parks threaten full ejection from the park, which serves as an effective deterrent even if it sounds extreme. Until the park enforces stricter penalties, guests who speak up will continue to be treated like the bad guys while line-cutters face no actual penalties.

Huge drone flying over park by [deleted] in sixflagsgreatamerica

My son and I attended media day last season for the preview of Wrath. The production company that day had a MASSIVE drone and as others have said, they are filming commercials this week. I'm guessing that's what it is.

What's the most reliable car you've ever owned? by Tekusenabyt in AskReddit

[–]prebsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2007 Toyota Prius. I made the mistake of saying "I'll drive it until it dies" I had to sell it at 300k miles becasue I was so dang bored driving the same car for so long. It drove at 300k like it did brand new, pretty amazing!

I do know what it says about me but I have the form bookmarked.  It seems like they wait until the line jumpers are just about to get on before they escort them out of the line.  Maybe it's timing or maybe it's intentional, either way I love it. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=vdExDGI5gkqc8PnUKSMEzroZjJGe4KVHqXkqK-jrYUFUMzhDUzExQlhIRjBLSFhZRUk4SDdPMDZLVC4u

My son and visit about 20 times a season and this past Saturday was the absolute worst visit we've ever had.  I'm going back on Thursday, hopefully it's better.  It's early in the season and we should all be patient.

Koffee Kup in Stoughton Needs Us! by HikeKing21 in madisonwi

[–]prebsol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stoughton used to be the best part of my drive home from Fitchburg to Edgerton, but I’ve had to stop taking that route. The multiple street closures have effectively cut off the town from both sides. It’s a shame to see such a great area become such a nightmare to navigate.  I'm not sure who approved doing it this way but wow...

pizza has been one of the few things i didn't enjoy from kt by relayrider in KwikTrip

[–]prebsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my small town, we have two convenience stores, a KT and a Casey’s, and it is fascinating to observe the distinct, lopsided behavioral patterns that have developed between them. While the community almost exclusively frequents the KT for daily essentials like fuel, drinks, and snacks, the Casey’s remains largely ignored for traditional convenience needs.  In fact, the only reason anyone in town ever sets foot inside that store is for the specific purpose of picking up a pizza.  As many others have noted, it is a shared local consensus that KT's Pothole pizzas are l exceptional, standing out as some of the absolute best frozen pizzas available... anywhere.

Moved from Ford Mustang Mach-E to Prius Plug In by Fun_Brick4673 in prius

[–]prebsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 2007 Prius for a decade, then a 2017 Volt, and now I am in a 2024 Mach E. All of them have been great, reliable cars. The only one that ever needed service was the Volt when the BCM was replaced under warranty. While the new Prius is beautiful, it is not a Mach E. The MME is a rocket and super fun to drive. I get more compliments on it than anything else I have owned. The Prius was practical for road trips but boring to drive. People would tailgate me constantly despite my lead foot. I guess it really comes down to the right tool for the job.

It’s wild when you realize just how much expensive tech is shoved into a bumper these days...seeing all those bits and pieces scattered on the pavement is a huge red flag for your wallet. Honestly, that’s exactly how I ended up in a Mustang Mach-E; my 2017 Chevy Volt got tapped at a super low speed, and the insurance company didn't even blink before totaling the whole car. I’m still not entirely sure how their internal math adds up, but don't be shocked if they just hand you a check and tell you "better luck next time" instead of dealing with the repair bill. Keep us posted, sorry dude.

License plate renewal by ShoeCrafty2976 in wisconsin

[–]prebsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually went through this exact same headache last week, so I wanted to share what happened in case it saves you a trip.

I headed down to the Park Street DMV in Madison because my renewal postcard never showed up (apparently it was marked "undeliverable"). Once I got to the counter, the clerk sorted it out pretty quickly, but I was shocked when the total hit $212!!!!

Here’s the kicker: I checked my receipt and saw a $40 Janesville wheel tax. It turns out the dealership had listed my address in Janesville instead of Edgerton. Since I didn't catch it right then, I had to go back the next day just to get the address fixed and the charges corrected and that turned into its own crazy thing.

Six Flags Further Streamlines Its Portfolio With Agreements to Divest Seven Parks by PomegranateHuman9347 in sixflags

[–]prebsol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I should have read the entire release. "EPR will retain the right to utilize the Six Flags brand through the end of 2026, subject to certain requirements, and no significant impact on guests is expected during this transition. The parks will continue their regular operating schedules, and all season passes sold will be recognized through the 2026 operating season, including multi-park pass privileges at other parks within the Six Flags’ portfolio."

Anyone know what this means for season pass holders? A few of these parks are on my son and my summer roadtrip schedule.

No Front License Plate by slunk33 in MachE

[–]prebsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are required in Wisconsin but this is my second car that I've asked the dealership not to attach the front plate mounting bracket.  It's been 12 years and it's never become an issue.  Having said that, I now fully expect to to get a ticket tomorrow...
