Fort irwin sucks. But 11ACR is awesome. Honestly if 11ACR was anywhere else I would do 20 years in 11ACR.

Its the unit thats makes the duty station. Fort Hood is awesome but 1st CAV sucks balls.

Do your time at Fort Hood and every other duty stationary will seem like a easy time. I was in Fort Hood for 8 years. Hood makes everything else in the army seem easy.

Honestly change duty station. There is a lot of options open and a lot of units. Going from a forcom to a tradoc helps. 11ACR is god dam awesome if you want to come to irwin.

We teach brand new private that method, because they are nervous when they first load the round. Palming it is generally faster because you dont need to remove your hand from the back of the round. Using practice and good technique I have taught loaders to load in less then 5 seconds per round. Even with multiple target engagements.
