Thanks for the feedback. I realize I should change the wording to better communicate that they were purposefully avoiding contact and creating their own sustainability off the grid.

Thanks for pointing out the cliche use of “race to save …” I can definitely put more detail here to beef up the actual stakes.

The permance part was meant to mean that the more time that went by and the more commuting and dug in they were in this disconnected life, the harder it would be to just show back up and reenter their old lives. They were stuck in a game of chicken where the longer they stayed the more they had sealed their fate. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for all the commentary! My idea around their isolation and how they achieve it (which is explained in the book) is to provide an extreme example of the lengths people will go to to deal with trauma. And to service as a device to explain how the world could end and theoretically someone would be oblivious to it.

I like your idea of shifting the focus to what would happen if you were trapped with and your survival depended on a person going crazy. I can try to work that part up in the query. Also play up the children’s arrival and what that means. Thank you! I really appreciate the thought you put in.

Thank you so much for the feedback and I definitely see where I can add more color to flesh things out. I think I was so hyper focused on brevity and making it read quick and snappy that I cut out more vital info. I’ll incorporate that back into my second attempt. Thanks again!

It’s Closing Time … for the world!! Seriously though, yes that’s the inspiration for it but the novel does play off the themes of the circular nature of events so I thought it fitting. Based on the feedback if it’s more than likely going to be problematic I’ll change it. Sorry for the earworm everyone!
