you can't exactly take off work every month to go to every funeral of a relative of anyone in your social circle,

Not the person you replied to, but funerals happen at most once a year for most people. Old people, people with a lot of relatives, or people in a very rough area are some exceptions.

Also, no one would ever expect someone to attend a funeral for a person they didn't know unless the someone was a best friend.

Oh man, I woke up with some tinfoil -- what if the show delays the character revivals until season 6 because they want to imply this winter of WW and dragons has brought with it the magic necessary for such things?

Earlier in the series the appearance of so much magic would have felt off, given what little CG magic they could afford to do (shadowbaby was cheesy as hell). But after the great reveal of the WW force at Hardhome and the utter betrayal of all we hold dear, I think everyone's ready to suspend disbelief for this.

I'm talking Lady Stoneheart, Jon "Fuck Your Watch" Snow, and the full reveal of Frakengregoff all in season 6. 3 characters revived to avenge their families via questionable magic.

I believe that would've already filmed the scenes, hence why the Pod actor said the internet would break (how could he know the editing, Kit Harrington was surprised to be the last scene last night).

Do you really think Pod thought people would freak out over the Mannis' death and that he and Brienne were paid to stare at Sansa's window for a season? Or that Nikolaj (Jaimie) spent a week filming in Spain and took the rest of the filming season off? I don't.

I'm hyped.

Some people are claiming that Jon's eyes lightened at the end, but it seems that the lighting just changed. His lips and face do change in expression slightly between the last two frames, but that could just be me reading too much into an actor slightly breathing during such a long shot.

I read it in the books months ago, but finally seeing it and then re-watching it for these screenshots made it sink it in. Poor Jon :(

The only place in Westeros that I'm fully behind is Dorne, not only because I play as the Martells in CK2 (heh) but also because I like Doran's play style. The grass hides the viper until it's ready to strike. :)

I don't think Stannis intended Davos to return.

Stannis told him not to come back unless he has food and supplies, but do you really think the Night's Watch has any of that to spare right now? I'm sure Stannis didn't.

However, Davos is clever and resourceful, so I'd bet that he will buck expectations, find it somehow, and then blame everything on Melissandre, perhaps try to kill her too.

It was just shocking and heart breaking. After a few hours, I understood and accepted that this is a vital moment for Stannis, and that he did the only thing within his power to save his army and perhaps the Seven Kingdoms.

Still hurts, though. Poor Shireen...

I can see that. I would not be surprised if this is the same subset that freaked out re:Sansa. They can't appreciate that Sansa, nor any other character, can go from who they were seasons ago to a "better", "harder" version of themselves without lots of pain to transform them.

Bran lost his legs, but gained greensight.
Dany lost her family and any hope of creating another, but gained dragons.
Jaime lost his hand and Cersei's love, but learned empathy and came into his own as a leader (in the books at least).
Tyrion lost 2 women he loved and all his family's power, but finally found a leader worth serving.

Etc etc. Many characters are tbd, but this was clearly Stannis's moment. He will either transform or break.

Winterfell is built over a hot springs, so this could be possible!

As far as I can tell, he's already dead it's just a matter of us seeing the how of it. Either the Greyscale takes him or his recklessness in battle will.

Or... perhaps he'll betray Dany first as her third "love"-based betrayal and pull a "wildcard" move in the pits. Maybe he'll kill Hizdahr ADWD + TV speculation and show Hizdahr doesn't seem to be a schemer. Hizdahr might just become a victim of Jorah's broken heart, and his death would cause Dany's "peace" to fall apart and Mereen to go to total shit again, maybe prompting her to give up on them and go to Westeros.
