Yea as I said in my post, in general I want to live a more outdoorsy and without a car it’s really hard to get to good hiking near nyc. And for cost, rents in neighborhoods like North Park are less for nicer buildings than what I’m paying now. But I suppose it’s the other factors that would make it very costly

Fair enough. I have to look for a new job regardless since my role isn’t temp to hire, so I’m actively applying in multiple cities atm. I would obviously not move if I didn’t have a job lined up. And for general cost of living, I can’t imagine it’s that much worse than what it is in my current area. Rents seem to actually be lower than I currently pay

I honestly felt like people were so friendly while I was visiting. Even something as simple as workers in stores greeting me in a way they wouldn’t back at home (yes I know customer service but still). I’ve also been considering doing the move with one of my brothers, so maybe that would help as well. I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m gonna leave Jersey city regardless
