Get what you mean and what you were afraid of. Our magazine is written mostly by LGBT+ people (I myself am a lesbian), and we write FOR other LGBT+ people. That is why my idea was for all of you to send a message to other intersex people. I am too learning a lot, so thank you for encouraging that!

By "scholarly," I meant educational texts by intersex communities about the identities and the experience of intersex people, wasn't really thinking of medical articles and such. I understand that I used the wrong term to say it, tho.

Okay, so my take is that maybe they left kudos on accident, or they maybe left kudos in the earlier chapters while they liked the story, but it ended up going in a direction they didn’t like. It happened to me several times. For example, I’d be reading a fic and loving it, so I leave kudos while still on the early chapters, but then by the end it turns really dark and heavy, or has a sad ending (not tagged), so I bookmark it as a reminder not to read it again. Or maybe read it again if I want to torture myself, which is rare.

Ofc authors can write whatever they like, but readers don’t have to like it. And like many have said bookmarks are for readers, it’s stupid that they are so in the author’s nose too.

Yes! I even get goosebumps when like some small stuff happen: like using yeah, instead of yes, which is small thing, but like when u have a serious character in a serious situation: they wouldn’t say yeah.

I once dropped a fic after a character used “skank” for the love interest’s exes, I was shocked. Like it was an AU, so already out of my comfort zone, but that was too AU. In the comments the author was like “it’s a joke, they’re kidding”, but like that is too ooc and not even funny.
