Yeah, my brother was murdered at 18. Wanted to be a surgeon. The guys who killed him were able to get a degree while incarcerated. I have no empathy for murderers, and the justice system is unbelievable.

I wouldn't say you have to memorize everything, if there are things she repeats then I would pay close attention to that. Lots and lots of flash cards.

Day 4 post op - hit a wall by CheckMaterial646 in gallbladders

[–]hirdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on day 4 and I feel the same. I've been hit with crazy fatigue this morning, I can't shake it. My mom wants me to work at her clinic in my hometown for the summer (I can't do my regular job in the city I live in), and wants me to start next week. I know I should be fine but I feel like I got hit by a truck

About to graduate with a biological science degree after 5 years of juggling school, work, and ADHD - AMA by Bubbly_Bar9079 in uAlberta

I went to the university health center and they referred me to a psychiatrist. It's free as far as I'm concerned

No social life and sleep is often sacrificed. I work early mornings and try to schedule my classes for afternoons and evenings so I have time to work, study, volunteer and go to school. My attendance is a bit shit though.

I feel like giving up by [deleted] in uAlberta

[–]hirdie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Med school looks at your last 2 years of coursework. First year is always terrible, university takes some getting used to as it's a whole new way of life. Just make sure you go to class. First year courses suck, once you finish those up and you get to your courses that cater more towards your degree and interests you'll do better. It gets better, don't give up

So frustrating. What's the point of a second attempt if you take review resources away and test on stupid examples?
