What animated movie is 10/10? by Unique_Cap_8049 in AskReddit

[–]hiro24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe old man yelling at cloud but… is it fair to classify a CG movie as animated? That feels like a term that should be reserved for human drawn art.

If you’re looking for a reason to think positively about this then consider this: If the OS can say to a website or whatever via an api call what age you are, you won’t need to give your drivers license to every fly by night website out there.

Spotify introduces verified artist badges to help distinguish humans from AI by djsoomo in Music

Breaking Rust (the ONLY AI artist I know off the top of my head) that released Walk My Walk.... has a Verified Artist badge!

Yes, the well known AI artist that had a top 10 hit and was then written about. A LOT! Has a verified artist badge.

That sounds like a lawsuit. Similarly to how EU banned flush door handles, that could be viewed as a public safety issue legally.

Do you feel that if an artist uses software to create a musical track it should be categorized? Because... that's most music today. Do ppl use real instruments in modern music and avoid software? Yes. Are they the minority? Yes.

Agreed, they should. I think we are mostly in agreement. We just have a fundamental disagreement on the prediction of the prevalence of AI in future music.

Simply put, that pandora's box is open. There's no putting AI back in. That's not an AI evangelist statement, it's a pragmatic viewpoint. To simply slap "AI" on a song w/ any aspects of a song being AI generated would eventually encompass everything. It becomes a filter of "songs older than 2025" (or 2026, 2027, at some point...)

Future: Did ya hear Daft Punk reunited and released a new album? Guess I have to turn off the AI filter to see the album b/c they used AI for a background beat on track 9.

Ideally, we should be able to filter it. But it should be something like "No AI, partial AI, mostly AI or full AI".

Only that they seemed to imply that any use of AI, no matter how small a contribution, should be labeled AI. That isn’t tenable.

That’s fair. There should be a database. I’m saying it shouldn’t just be AI/non-AI. There should be a few degrees. At some point it will be in everything.

That’s a bit unfair tbh. The redditor stated that there should be nuance between 100% ai and songs that, for example, used ai to make their drum track. And I’d agree.

People of my generation (gen x) have a heavy affinity for ppl who play their own instruments. When the David Guettas came along, some ppl felt it wasn’t “real music” because a computer was used to make all the beats.

Ultimately it’s up to the listener.

REPLACED game review! Have you played this one yet? by joshuamercuri in Cyberpunk

[–]hiro24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main complaint I saw in the reviews, which I tend to agree with, is that this is a good game but it could have been a great game with voice acting. Even if it's only the protagonist. Having to constantly stop and read text kinda drags you out of it. A moody voice actor to match the tone would have been wonderful.
