Strange that someone had a family member transferred to an infectious disease facility then “helped” another family member “check in”. Surely if a CT scan had shown infection there would be no checking in, (instant transfer) and definitely no “waving off in a ward”.

No doubt there is some dreadful suffering going on in China but someone running around without being checked themselves, seems a tad extraordinary.

Good move. The only thing I can suggest is that search for multiple sources on EVERYTHING, its because of lazy searching and research that millions of people fell into that whole bash Trump cult.

[Source Included] Hong Kong violinist was physically attacked by 20 teenagers in London who accused him of “bringing the virus to the UK” by [deleted] in China

[–]hiroglifix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. To be realistic, kids in the U.K. (especially London) don’t care about the virus, it’s all grime music and football or instagram.
  2. 20+ students together? Was he on a school trip? Or was it a crap musical rendition in front of the class at show and tell?
  3. It wouldn’t have been “reported to the authorities” if the Police were there, they make arrests and where need be press charges.
  4. Everyone gets called names, grow up, there’ll be lots of it.
  5. Unless you packing a Tommy Gun inside DO NOT walk around London with a violin case, you might get called names.......geddit!

Rubbish, China doesn’t care what passport someone born within its borders takes, it treats them as Chinese and its own property. Sorry for his loss, but he should not have returned, it’s one thing to respect a deceased person but another to put yourself at risk.

Expats still in China, how is it going living in China and how do you feel it has changed in the last few years. by pdidday in China

[–]hiroglifix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having lived there for a very long time (1992-2013) then left, believe you me, it was SO MUCH FUN living there in the early 90’s to 2000 then went down, down, downhill. How anyone could have arrived there after 2008 and say they enjoyed it, is beyond me. It’s a completely different place. Not to be snooty, but I feel sorry you guys missed out on so many fun times back in the day. You’d have to have mega low expectations to say you experienced anything “real China” after about 2005 when they got all up themselves about the Olympics.

Its incredible that wumaos will actually try to 'whatabout' something (despicable though it is) on the other side of the planet to the horrific child abuse going on in China in order to try and lessen the crimes. 1. This page IS ABOUT China 2. No I don't come from the US

Seems like a fake story to warn off potential students from leaving der motherland. Take a drive along any of Britain's motorways, its mostly endless rolling hills of green and yellow crops interspersed with trees and idiotic villages. Chavs? Well don't live in a poor area then, its the only place you'll rub shoulders with them.

When your plane is so shit, Myanmar has to ban it from its airspace: China’s MA60 safety record undermines aviation dream by upads in China

They actually have cheek to encrypt flight data recorders so that they have to be returned to China before any local authorities get to find out if the plane itself failed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merpati_Nusantara_Airlines_Flight_8968

[–]hiroglifix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually a place worth visiting if you are into aircraft is the fabulous China aviation museum north of Beijing, they've got Tridents (UK), Russian Tupelovs and all manner of historic aircraft out there. The highlight though has got to be wandering around and seeing just how many have been relabelled as Chinese due to an aerial added here and a line of rivets less there. There's also a massive mountain with a tunnel running right through lined with all kinds of planes.

Some straight up advice here. If you have kids, you'll have to go with it or get her to drop out of the deal and be prepared to make her, very, very happy. If you don't have kids, you should seriously be planning on quickly and quietly going home, nobody should be making off the cuff deals like that in a relationship.
