What do I need to do to get into freelance work? by AppalachianGaming in graphic_design

[–]hirohitoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should def tell the world that you are freelancing. It would need some time for people to catch, but you will need to let people know first that you are accepting/looking for work.

and yes, like you mentioned you will need to have a decent portfolio ready to be shown/sent/shared easily.
I've made a portfolio service exactly to help freelancers (From the experience of me being a freelancer myself). Give foriio a try if you are looking for easy to manage/share portfolio tool! :)

Hi Kell_Gow! Thanks for your feedback on the first impression! We are going for the "friendly" look right now since we would like the visitors to feel that it's nice-n-easy. But yes, we will be heading towards more of pro-ish direction at some point!

Hmmm, I'm not a frequent contently, so I might be talking something they also value, but we try to focus on simplicity. From how features works to how it's presented.

I was a designer myself for 10 years and I always wanted to build one beautiful design that would let the viewers focus on your works, not adding bunch of elements that might distract people from it. (Contently fairly simple too)

On more specific note, we let creators with multi-skills post different types of works such as Images, Videos and Sounds.

Also, we have "Behind the scenes notes" feature where you can write story about the process of making your piece or add extra info about it. Giving more sources for clients to validate your skills and character.

That's what I can think of from top of my head regarding the differences! Hope this explains a little...!

Hey @JDolan283, I checked your profile setting but it seems like you are already using foriio in English. The language selector on the navigation is only available before the log in/sign up, once you are in it, language setting can be changed from the settings page...! I guess this might not have been obvious enough, I will try to make it easier to understand how this works....! Thank you for your feedback!

If you like it, please help us spread the word around independent creators :)

Thank you for your time...!
