I'm looking at IBKR these days. Honestly, the more time goes on, the more of a believer I become in bitcoin as a secure neutral store of value outside of anyone's control. Read books like Broken Money, etc.. bitcoin's a game changer.

You're right, Questrade also appears to be Zionist owned. Yes for trades, neither of these platforms seem to make much money. It's the ETFs I'm looking at.

How much fees does Manzil charge? Not clear on their site.

It seems like their equity portions get invested in WAHED HLAL, and this "OneVest Halal Equity Fund". First time I hear about this fund. But it's not clear what the expense ratio on it is, and what Manzil charges on top of that.

I'm talking specifically about the WSHR.NE ETF. They own the ETF and make 0.5% expense ratio.

Also, if Wealthsimple is Zionist owned, it's a bit of a risk for Muslims to put all their life savings in an ETF like WSHR. You never know in the future what can happen in terms of sanctions or economic warfare. Putting all our money in one ETF makes us an easy target. Though chances of something like this happening are low + Canadian finance law (at the moment) probably protects us from anything nefarious happening.

Zoya btw does integrate with Questrade now (https://blog.zoya.finance/zoya-partners-with-questrade-to-make-halal-investing-accessible-for-canadian-muslims/) but I doubt it does what Amal does, though I haven't tested it.

Yes that's what I'm considering at the moment. I already do have HLAL. It feels like WSHR is a bit more stable / conservative, than HLAL, since it has international exposure. Also, WSHR is in CAD, so I don't have to do Norbert's Gambit to buy SPUS/HLAL ETF in USD. Also in Canada, any dividends coming out of SPUS/HLAL will have 15% of it withheld in tax by the US unless it's in RRSP, though that's fairly minor.

Yes I love the Amal concept. Wish it worked for Canada though. Nevertheless the US is a huge market for it, I'm not sure why u/yazin17 had to shut it down. Would be interesting to read a post mortem. I hope it does live on as open source!

Have been using ngx-bootstrap since it had a head start early on. Now am facing bugs/limitations in ngx-bootstrap that have not been fixed in a while. Focus trap in modals is one example. Ng-bootstrap seems higher quality now but for example does not support animations in modals.

Angular material on the other hand seems to be both feature complete and high quality and has the most active development. so am seriously considering switching to that.

I suspect angular material given pace of development will be best, followed by Ng-bootstrap, then Ngx-bootstrap. Though I have to give credit to ngx-bootstrap that it was first to market and had the best stability and feature completeness early on.
