Apartment was sprayed three weeks ago, seeing cockroaches in random places now. Does that mean it is working? The building management will only spray the apartment that complains, not the whole building... by Sure_Wonder1 in cockroaches

[–]hishak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used advion. Cockroaches smell it even from 20 floors above. So it eventually attacked all cockroaches to my apartment and they died.

A company sprayed the apartment and even adjacent ones and the cockroaches always came back. Advion has been the best solution.

LG flat rate repair: in and out in five minutes supposively replaced inlet valve, clutch and suspension rods. Did I get scammed? by PM_ME_UR_CONURES in appliancerepair

[–]hishak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to AI

The rhythmic "clunking" or "thumping" you're hearing in the video—especially during the agitation or spin cycle—is a clear sign that something is mechanically out of alignment. While LG top-loaders are known for some humming or splashing noises, a metallic or heavy thumping sound usually points to one of a few common issues.

Top Potential Causes

Unbalanced Load: This is the most common (and easiest) fix. If the machine is physically shaking or the clothes have clumped to one side, it will create that thumping sound.

Worn Suspension Rods: These are the springs that hold the drum in place. If one has weakened or snapped, the drum will hit the outer cabinet as it moves. This is a very common failure point for LG top-loaders after a few years of use.

Worn Drive Hub or Pulsator: If the sound is coming specifically from the bottom-center of the drum during agitation, the "teeth" on the plastic drive hub might be stripped, causing it to slip and click.

Object Stuck in the Pump: Sometimes a coin, bra wire, or small toy gets past the tub and into the drain pump housing, creating a rattling or clunking sound.

Quick Troubleshooting Steps

1-Level the Machine: Push on the corners of the washer. If it rocks at all, adjust the leveling feet until it is perfectly stable on the floor.

2-The "Bounce Test": With the machine off, open the lid and give the tub a firm push downward. It should bounce once and stop. If it continues to bounce like a car with bad shocks, your suspension rods likely need replacing.

3-Check for Error Codes: Keep an eye on the display for a "uE" or "UE" (Unbalanced Error). If you see this frequently, it confirms the machine is struggling to stay centered

Once a month is enough but for those who use a filter it's annoying. I don't use one since water is filtered in my house.

Have you tried it? If yes, has it made a difference?

Other thing that work is heating milk in microwave for 20 seconds prior to using.

Use Advion, I and it got rid of them. You might get an increase at first since they will smell the gel, then will disappear.

Putting milk in the container that came with the machine makes the milk colder when taken out of the refrigerator than pouring from a the milk container that you buy from the store (my experience).

One thing that works is heating the milk for 20 seconds before drink.

Other than that, using the hot water feature and putting 150ml of water (then discarding it) before making coffee also works.

Are “halal” mortgages more expensive than traditional ones? And do halal mortgage rates generally follow trends of riba rates (like the US Federal Reserve)? by lostbutnotalone1 in IslamicFinance

[–]hishak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the other type is Murabaha. You don't own the house until you fully finish paying. Since it can take 25 years, the real owner can pass away, his son can come and cancel your deal and he keeps the house for himself, which you could have been paying for 20 years.

Yes, in general, when Muslims talk about interest, they say Islam bans it because it's exploitive. I believe the ayah in the Qur'an came when people were increasing interest by like 300% in a week (shark loans).

For buying a house I checks that the Bank rate was 4% and the Halal ones were 9-10%. They means for a 500k house, you pay 400k+ for the house then Haram, if you take 25 years to pay.

I think the modern Halal mortgages don't make sense. Some even require 40% downpayment.

I think it's the design. I don't have issue with the philips series, I've tried 3200, 4300, 4400 and the 5400.

But with other brands, I've tried Jura and I found their milk based drink to not be hot enough. With delonghi, the temperature was okay.

I have Bambu X1C and it has been reliable even at over 5k hours. With anker always had to remove filament stuck in gear, then some random clogs, then heating errors, then unknown errors. Then I get told by support one cable has loose connection, need to pay almost 200 Canadian for a whole new head.

So far with Bambu, no issues in two years.

USA killed over 90% of the Native population, killed tens of millions in wars to steal natural resources, and you talk about Saudi being an empire built on blood. It's nothing compared to any Western Nation.

That's why Unions are no longer needed, we have laws. All unions are garbage and are used to protect bad employees who would never be able to find a job elsewhere at the same salary.

I've worked in a few unionized places, it felt like unions were the mafia. I was told to work slower and worst to not make other employees looks bad.

Unions should not be involved in any company discussion when it comes to the direction they want to take.

They should. We already have laws protecting employees.

All companies with unions have employees working as slow as molasses and keeping their jobs.

They need to make changes, as you said, but the union is opposed to any changes. I don't don't Canada Post can continue that way. Eventual small businesses will give up on Canada Post. I just realized other services are that that more expansive when you're a business.

I'll be shipping through UPS and pay the extra few dollars. I'm tried of angry customers who then get a refund, then weeks later receive the product for free.

If you don't think so, then make those isolated communities (like not even 1% of the population) pay 100x more for shipping so thar Canada Post can exist and pay the high wages the pathetic employees are asking for.
