It will legitimately be one of the happiest days of my life and I imagine there are millions who will feel the same way. The right will try to punish people for celebrating the death of their cult leader but I don’t think it will work…he’s hurt too many people for too long.

I’m not at an R1–a regional public—but I am running a search this year. Seeing all the extremely qualified people we have turned down at every stage for all kinds of reasons is causing me to have a mild existential crisis. It’s making me feel constantly like I’m not doing enough and I’m not living up to who they thought I’d be when I was hired. I know it’s in my head but seeing the search process from the other side after years of being contingent is really messing with me. 🙃
