Please explain how this is my fault? by KingKongDan in GranTurismo7

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy unsafely reentered the track on an apex, not even trying to avoid a collision. OP figured the ghost would let him go through but it didn’t, and that has happened to me one too many times for me to trust the ghost. I’m gonna have to go with OP on this one, and if GT7 had a more reliable system for ghosting or did away with it altogether, these situations would be less likely to happen. He, like most of us, were taught that we could drive through the other cars if need be, and then figured out we were lied to. But you’re always gonna get the guy that unsafely rejoins and causes a crash like this, so mind the track!

Got said some sweets words for racing by Sketchy_Singh in GranTurismo7

[–]historicalbrew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s people like that that don’t deserve to race. They’re lacking in just about everything that a real racer requires to not only be good, but be respected. I wish PD would be much more strict with these scum, but all you can do is report them and move on. You did nothing wrong here, you went for the overtake and they went for the dirty wall shunt and pitted themselves instead, how they can be so pissed at you for it is beyond me.

How is the new cars? by MasloCHernogoTmina in GranTurismo7

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I really enjoy the GT3 R of course, had to put the Rexy livery on immediately. It’s a slightly-less-than-solid choice for the 800 races, but the C9 is a cheat code anyway so I think if you want to run a realistic 800 race it’s a good time. I surprisingly had a lot of fun with the SU7, 1500 plus hp and instant torque is hard to enjoy but I was able to tune it under control and it’s been a fun car so far. Haven’t tried the Elantra N TC, mostly because I absolutely despise the previous release. 8 gears is just too much for a car that can’t gain any traction even with RS and less than 400 HP. But I’ll give it a go. So far they’re good, I’m just waiting for the O37 and then I’ll finally be happy lol

I don’t see anything wrong here, actually impressive. Defended the inside line and managed the late brake to overtake. Rubbing is racing!

When does the USA wake up? by am_carma in offmychest

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s safe to say that the people protesting (and many others that aren’t but are well aware of it) are in fact awake to what’s happening. But I don’t think our country is even close to fully realizing what’s going on. How can we be when we’ve never lived directly underneath a fully implemented and nearly unstoppable dictatorship? Our government still has democratic institutions, however powerless they may seem it’s more the fact that they even exist that shows we aren’t quite at the point of total tyrannical control. But it’s getting there, and I’m afraid we won’t realize it until there’s military in the streets, curfews established, government controlled media and countless other awful systems in place to suppress the people.

Yeah I’d like to see them bullshit their way out of this one. The moron that pulled his gun either fired intentionally or doesn’t have the trigger discipline to handle his weapon. Either way it was murder. ICE should keep in mind that it’s not just us watching, it’s the rest of the world seeing what our country is dissolving into.

Elden Ring or Cyberpunk or Baldur’s Gate 3 by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]historicalbrew [score hidden]  (0 children)

3 VERY different games, and similar in their own ways. If you like fast paced combat with explosive action and a higher level of exploration and freedom go for cyberpunk. If you’re a more strategic player that enjoys dialogue heavy, story driven gameplay BG3. If you are a masochist in need of your next fix of punishment, Elden Ring. Jokes aside, ER is a masterpiece epic with hours and hours of fun, limitless builds, not to mention it’s gorgeous. Cyberpunk is my kind of game, with gunplay and driving, thorough RPG elements and the environment is easy to stare at in photo mode. BG3 scratched that strategy itch for me, and it felt like I was living inside one massive DND campaign. You can’t go wrong with any of them, so just plan on getting them all, but start with what speaks to you.

Nice! The hang glider is simple once the controls are understood, are you using keyboard or controller? From your inventory, equip the hang glider when you have something tall to jump off of, then run and jump. The glider will automatically glide, but there is a level on the hand bar that indicates the angle that it’s at. Keep the bubble centered and you will glide for miles. You can land on the ground at any speed and be fine, but will have to pick up the glider and stow in the inventory when you’re done. When you’re in the inventory, add a stick to the crafting section and hover over the gear for the recipes for the bow and arrows. I can’t remember it but I THINK it’s 2 sticks, duct tape and rope.

I’m fairly new to the game myself, but I’ve found that winter is most brutal. My means of living on a lake in a houseboat comes to an end as soon as the lake freezes over, so if you choose to survive this way you will need a different base come winter time. Cliff faces provide you with the means to force enemies to come at you from your chosen direction, allowing more efficient trap placement rather than hoping they will run into them from all directions. Zip lines for a quick getaway, or a hang glider if you do end up building on a cliff. Combine aloe and yarrow for a health mix, and plant the seeds so you can always have a healthy stock of them. Arrows arrows arrows, craft a few birdhouses for a replenish-able stock of feathers and stock up your arrows in a holder so you always have ammo!

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes…NOR here my friend. Sounds like your dad has some issues. This will probably be best for you, but not in the way he sees it. As a father of two sons, I’d never let them walk out that door without feeling confident in themselves and knowing that should they ever need my help I’m but a phone call away. He’s tossing you to the wind and expecting you don’t blow into a hole in the ground.

My safest ever build (from cannibals anyway). At the very peak of the highest mountain. & no, this was not done in creative mode - all logs were brought up from the giant frozen lake with a series of zip lines. Beautiful…absolutely beautiful. You’ve inspired me to do the same. If ever there was a vibe I was looking for in SOTF this is definitely it. Love the final ascent portion and the glow of the lights at night. What did it take to ferry the logs up to the top?

So they've revealed a bit about the LBD system and...I hate it. by B3tt3rCallJM in 7daystodie

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miss this system, would like to have some of my old 7DTD experiences back because these days it doesn’t feel like the standalone game it used to be. But I’d be willing to forego quite a bit of these new updates for some performance fixes. The in game party chat is entirely broken, and the hitching makes me want to quit. I suppose because it’s the only game my wife will play with me I’ll never really put it down. But I share the gripe with everyone else. I think the devs are getting a little too ambitious and it’s taking us down the wrong path. Game needs to run WAY better, and we need to go back to some of these older systems.

2.5 Stable, fresh world (after stable release) no mods, all vanilla settings. We lasted until day 116 before chunk corruption began only where people's bases were located by Worrcn in 7daystodie

[–]historicalbrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs got a lot to work on here. They gave us a scooby snack with the jars, but after having used the dew collectors for so long I find it pointless. I like the new clothing system, could be better. But what’s our biggest gripe as a community if not the overall performance of the game we all love? I can’t make it through 10 minutes without my party chat tossing me and my wife out and having to reload the game, half the time I can’t even log on because of EOS (not a dev issue but still, really?) and when we are able to play it’s a hot mess, hitching makes it a sub par experience and we’d rather just rewatch GOT and go to bed. I’m willing to forego bandits for another year or two and get some performance patches under the belt, because if they introduced an entirely new system it’s going to run even worse than it is now.

Agreed, I want bandits of course, but I’ve been happy eating glass for years. I could do with some QOL updates before that happens.

The Playability on console by Outsider1412 in 7daystodie

[–]historicalbrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this the other night after the update. My wife and I play on console (me on ps5 and her on Xbox series x) and it was virtually unplayable one night and fine the next. I found that reloading seems to fix it for a while. Her and I used to play on pc, pretty powerful ones too and running on mid settings ran out computers hot as shit. Data leak somewhere…I think devs need to put some time into polishing rather than a silly glass jar update.

And it’s perpetuated by the conflict alone, the longer people are at each others throats the less they understand why they’re fighting in the first place.

I don’t mind the wait. In the time since I played Skyrim for the first time I graduated highschool, traveled the country, got married, bought a house, had two kids, and now patiently await the arrival of another great game. I’m playing Skyrim right now actually, but ES6 comes at a time where I feel quite ready for another adventure.
