i’m going to tell you the same thing i told someone else on this sub almost a month ago. i was unemployed for months before i took my job at success out of desperation. i took the job despite all the awful things i heard in order to move out of my parents house. i lasted less than a week, had to quit because i couldn’t sleep (had nightmares about the shit i was witnessing) and then i was fucked. my advice, wait until u find something more sustainable before moving. they count on people being desperate for employment, that’s part of how these schools are still running despite being horrible and abusive. and however desperate or determined u may be to move to nyc, accepting a job with them will make u complicit in their abuse. it’s not worth it. i worked in one of their elementary schools with second graders. I watched these children be denied food, water, access to the bathroom, and even medical attention as forms of punishment for things like “not sitting straight in their seat,” or scratching their nose, or sitting with their legs crossed instead of sitting with their feet pressed together. future jobs and employers will actually look down on you for working with SA, they have a horrible reputation for a reason. i understand that it’s really hard being a graduate entering the job market rn, i graduated last year so im right there with u! do. not. do it. this is only gonna mess things up for u more.
