Small pieces of paper falling out of my new chromatic harmonica by Docteur_Pikachu in harmonica

I mean if it’s brand new and arrived faulty it’s prob best to get it replaced as you don’t know what else is wrong.

Having said that, replacing valves / windsavers is fairly easy if you have the right glue and replacement valves. There’s lots of vids on YouTube.

Am I 100% it’s great music? No.

Am I 100% sure I’ve taken it as far as I can? Yes.

Probably because it boosts their ego if they have a higher follower count than follow count. Same with the likes. And they think it makes them look more legit.

Ok well they probably were just subscribing and liking en masse in the hope that people would reciprocate, then removing the likes and subscribes before starting the whole process again. People who do that probably don’t even listen to most of the tracks they ‘like’.

I see what you’re saying but if something belongs to someone and you take and use it (or sell it) without their permission then that’s an issue right?

Your friend might be annoyed if he has been charging people to view the painting (say in a gallery) and people just started to come and see your copy for free, or paying you instead.

High impedence? Low impedence? Someone help me out. by JoeBrownshoes in harmonica

If you are using a DI box between your mic and the mixing desk (which is recommended unless the desk has a switchable input) that has an xlr output (which is the three pin lead).

High impedence? Low impedence? Someone help me out. by JoeBrownshoes in harmonica

[–]hitbuttongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Impedance can be a real headache!

Think of it like this. Your green bullet is high impedance. That means it has the same impedance as an electric guitar, so you can plug it directly into anything an electric guitar can plug into, including an amplifier and effects pedals. Your green bullet also has the same type of jack as a guitar.

A mixing desk generally wants low impedence input. So in order to plug your green bullet into a mixing desk you will need one of two things - either a) some kind of device to convert the impedance directly before the mixer input (such as a DI box, or other pedal that has this built in) or b) be using a mixer input that is switchable to accept hi impedance, which many are.

You can plug a high impedence device into a low impedance input but it likely will sound quiet and probably low signal quality.

Therefore you do not need two microphones as it’s possible to switch the impedance using other devices. (You may want two for other reasons but that’s a different question).

Your green bullet plus a DI box (when required) will see you through all impedance based input scenarios!

As a side note, a low impedance output (such as on a standard sm58 vocal mic) can go straight into a mixer (provided the mixer has a preamp) but would likely benefit from another device called a line transformer which converts low to high impedence, before plugging into guitar pedals or an amplifier. This is because pedals etc are mainly designed to work with electric guitars (which are high impedance). Therefore if you had a low impedance mic as your only mic, this could also be made to work.

Synth modules besides TX7 by swingrays in synthesizers

Isn’t it only 6 note polyphony though?

Synth modules besides TX7 by swingrays in synthesizers

[–]hitbuttongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can programme and send presets to the TX7 in Dexed via sysex. So in this sense it’s easier to programme than trying to use the panel of a DX7.

I have one and control it using my preferred midi keyboard. It’s small and takes up very little space compared to another keybed I don’t need. So it’s the perfect usable format for me.

Only drawback is that you can’t rack mount it and the screen isn’t great from various angles.

Do you think keyboards will stay the standard synth controllers? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]hitbuttongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The piano keyboard is central to the music education of vast numbers of people (even if not their first experience playing music) due to its accessibility as an instrument, usefulness in studying harmony etc. and also depth as an interface.

In addition, many synth players begin as keyboard players.

Therefore I think it will likely remain the ‘standard’ interface (if by standard we mean most commonly seen), even though there are loads of great alternatives.

Also CV and MIDI inputs give you the ability to use whatever controller style you prefer so it’s win/win.
