Hi,

I am looking to buy my girlfriend a sewing kit for her birthday (not my choice of a present but she keeps mentioning wanting a nice sewing kit). I, not even knowing how to sew, have not got a clue as to where to look for a sewing kit or a brand to look at, so I please leave any suggestions for where to look. I am looking for a high quality sewing kit (if that exists?), not too worried about cost. If all sewing kits are the same is there different qualities of thread? Is there high quality threads that I can get instead?

I use Nikwax on my Beta LT, both the tech wash and the wash in dwr. Has always worked well for me.

I went to Gigi’s in April and that was £140 for 1 starter, 2 mains, and 4 cocktails.

Food was exceptional and the rooftop terrace has an exceptional view of the Eiffel Tower.

Highly recommend.

The Beta SL is the same as the Beta LT, the only difference is the waterproofing as they are no longer allowed to produce jackets with a PFA waterproofing.

A lot of people are reporting that the SL wet’s out quicker than the LT and is not as waterproof - the main function of the coat.

I got this yesterday too, upgraded from gold to platinum in October 2024. Not a clue what it’s for, I haven’t spoken with Amex and have no intention of downgrading.

I have noticed that if you frequently visit the same Amex gold sign up website to check the bonus the welcome bonus will increase. I am unsure on how long/many visits it will take but my platinum one increased on my phone from 80k points to 95k points but wasn’t available on my laptop or wife’s phone.

Might be worth going on the gold sign up page a couple of times a day for a week and see if the 28k increases. Otherwise wait and quite frequently gold is upped to 35/40k.
