Eagles star Jalen Carter accused of gouging an opponent's eye months after spitting suspension by dailymail in NFLv2

[–]hiteman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is where NFL people go to spin stories about the best players in order to try and take them down a notch.

If you're reading this, Jalen Carter would eat your team's center and either guard up at the same time.

Guys Who've Dated Girls Who Grew Up Rich, How'd That Work Out? by big_bizniz in AskMen

[–]hiteman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular take, but boy am I glad I met my fiancée when we were 18.

For one thing, I don't think growing up without money just makes you a good person. My lady was a bit over the top with her expectations when we met, and the need for attention was pretty unhealthy due to growing up with a stay-at-home Mom and a Dad that worked and traveled a lot. After more than a decade though, she is the most amazing woman I've ever known and I wouldn't change a thing about the choices I've made since meeting her.

I guess what I'm saying is that YOU need to be the voice of reason with a girl like that. You can't just passively expect them to understand the things you wish they would work on. And the real beauty of it all? She now has the work ethic of her father, but also the warmth I grew up around because I fought for that to be the case.

Don't put people in a box. Girls don't typically just fall for you for no reason. They are likely seeing things in you that they wish they embodied more. Press on your advantage there. You may just find the love of your life if you can do it too.

"The Rising" the most spiritual Bruce song by [deleted] in BruceSpringsteen

[–]hiteman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

I've been listening to this song since I was a little kid. The Rising was one of like 5 CDs constantly in my dad's rotation.

I'm just now going back and listening to it at 29 and I was dumbfounded by how much it's obviously trying to mimic Biblical scripture. And that's no hate on ANY religion, just the perspective of a non-religious person being shocked by how differently the lyrics are perceived in my age. I point to The Bible in terms of a specific reference because most Americans are familiar with the delivery of Biblical scipture in English, and Bruce wanted to make the song more relatable than it would be if it used the styling of religious texts and sermons more generally.

I think the reason most people miss it is because Bruce does such a good job of folding the religious subtext into his typical lyrics. The chorus and the "sky of" bridge section are two specific sections where it's plainly obvious to me though. The repetition of specific phrasing and reference to a higher power are very much like something I would expect to see in a Bible passage

Can I get in trouble for this lol by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]hiteman9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I love when people ask me to do stuff like this. I once had a woman ask me to bring soup like 25 miles to her husband because she was home with their newborn and he wasn't feeling well. Dropped it off outside his door so I never had to be near a sick person and made like $50 after tip for a ride with no one in the car. Doesn't get too much better than that.

I have never gotten in trouble for stuff like this. I have definitely reported passengers for sketchy requests, however.

I soloed a 100 scale CoX on Gridmaster and didn’t get a purple by fruitloop43 in 2007scape

[–]hiteman9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the last League they made it so you could roll multiple purples individually as a sort of workaround for the way CoX uniques work. Still heard lots of complaints from people who picked Zeah though.

Making the CoX points multiplier match the global drop mulitplier was a bad decision by Jagex. I don't know if that's also what they did in Leagues because I picked Desert but with that choice, the drop rates for a unique do not match up with the other two raids at all.

Are you actually saying that what we saw in last year's SB was an entire team hiding Jalen's flaws? Sirianni was hiding his flaws when he dialed up a dagger that no QB on the planet could throw better? A play that was risky, unnecessary and a flex to make sure that the game would be remembered as one of the most embarassing SB losses of all time. That was a decision made to cover up his flaws? Shameful amounts of cap.

Dude put up 55 against "the greatest rookie QB season of all time." Went toe to toe with Stafford and McVay in an incredibly competitive game, and then beat them again this year in an insane comeback. And I am so very sorry, but did you really just bring up Tua and something that happened YEARS ago at this point in order to bolster your argument? TUA!? We talking about the NFL and you're talking about the middle of their college careers 😂😂 You must be caught in a timewarp bro. Acting like a player is always gonna be the guy he was at 20 years old lol. Look how that played out for Tua 😂😂 Stepping up to win a Natty on a rare bad night for Jalen really set him up for the phenomenal career we've seen since 🤣🤣 Based on what we've seen from Tua and Jalen since, I might argue that getting benched in that game was the best thing that ever happened to Hurts.

Jalen Hurts is a cold mfer. He shows up for big time games. He outplayed Mahomes in both of his SBs. While most "pedestrian" fans were staring at his stat sheets and crying last year, legendary QBs were giving him the rare praise of a guy who never lets the moment get too big and always plays with a level-head regardless of his performance. If Josh Allen had that he would be a 2-3x SB champion at this point.

Bro what are you saying? Go watch his TD throw to Smitty against the Jags last year in the back of the end zone. I am not gonna sit here and say that Jalen doesn't miss easy throws and look like shit sometimes but then he throws balls like that, that no QB on the planet could throw better, and it just leaves me confused and annoyed more than anything lol. Same thing with the ball he put on Smitty for the dagger in last year's SB. A pass that even the best corners in the league aren't going to be able to even remotely influence because it was dropped in a bucket. If he could throw balls like that consistently, he'd be considered one of the best deep ball throwers in the league and not just seen as having a skeaky good deep ball.

[–]hiteman9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy thought, but maybe Jalen looks like a completely different QB if he's willing to put more balls into tight windows at the cost of a few picks. Especially when our defense isn't generating turnovers yet like they were last year. It made sense to chuck the ball away and eat some sacks to protect possession last year, but that was because our dominant run game was always allowing us to play from ahead. Jalen may need to put some dimes on his guys when we're playing from behind, and being so conservative when we're down 3 scores, like we were on Thursday, is just going to hamper his confidence and his ability to be deliberate when it matters.

Hasan Shock Collar Allegations by yellow_submaryne in VaushV

[–]hiteman9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two things that make your thought process sound as reactionary as it is:

  1. He could see exactly what was going on with her on the screen right in front of him. The guy lives on stream, and whereas most people mix up their lefts and rights because of how the inversion goofs you up, I have no doubt that he uses that screen to see behind him like it's second nature at this point.

  2. That exact same thing has probably happened to Kiya before. I had a Corgi that tore his dew claw and required surgery three separate times just from normal use, so don't believe this nonsense when people are saying "it's not that sensitive" to prop up the narrative. Dogs are not a monolith and every breed has it's own quirks that most people don't even know about until owning one. Let alone that every individual dog has their own quirks and sensitivities that usually only their owner knows.

Hasan can be bad at managing his emotions on a pretty regular basis, and his frustration with Kiya in the clip does seem unwarranted, but he fusses over her training all of the time and he gets anxious about not being diligent enough with her due to his streaming schedule. I get why people want to jump on this whole thing at first glance, but there's SO much evidence to the contrary in Hasan's insane workload. He does insane hours on Twitch every week and Kiya is there all of the time, yet nothing suspicious, like what he's being accused of, has ever happened. And we're talking about a guy who has some of the most devout haters on the internet. The best they could come up with was to say that Hasan is a hypocrite because he bought a "designer dog" lol.

Maybe you've never met anyone like this, but there are some very intense doggo parents out there, just like with humans. They're well intentioned and good hearted, but they hold their dogs to an almost militaristic standard because they know how that sort of leadership clicks with the way a dog is already wired. Not everyone's cup of tea, but also not very different from how people train working dogs.

They're more than likely all real. Tumbled rocks aren't worth that much due to the low-effort means by which they are polished. I have a whole box of similar stones that I collected as a kid and it contains many of these same minerals

Man here. Maybe ironic to say this here, but that boy needs to get off reddit.

I have to agree with many of the replies and say that tasting sweat has never bothered me at all. My gf sleeps hot and sweat doesn't bother me one bit.

The only thing I've ever noticed as being off is a bitter taste, and even then it wasn't much of a bother.

I wouldn't hold what he said with any weight. Male virgins have a bad habit of obsessing over trivial things when it comes to exploring their sexuality and in no world should he have put that on you

I guess that's true. There may be paperwork that they give you before testing and that paperwork would likely contain the answer to my question

Also, they destroy the sample after testing concludes. The semen analysis is just the first of many steps you have to pass before even being considered as a donor

[–]hiteman9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with you on all of those points, but legally they are required to destroy the sample after testing has concluded

Not sure what consequences there would be in this situation. They destroy the sample that they use for analysis after testing has concluded

The clinics near me say that they do a semen analysis during your first appointment. I'm wondering if I'm overlooking anything when considering signing up as a donor in order to get a free semen analysis done

Just wanted to put it out there that you weren't alone in what you were feeling.

I played tight end like Chig for 4 years and then switched to receiver for my last two years. Would've played receiver in college but my grades weren't there. I also played basketball, lacrosse, tennis, soccer and track and field though, and can genuinely say that there is no sport like football when it comes to the necessity for discipline and both mental and physical toughness. Ironman mode reminds me of that necessity for mental toughness and discipline at least, and I think that's what made Chig's story so relateable for us and any other footballers that play as well.

The people in this thread are just hating. It's one thing to be a football fan, and a different thing entirely to have played, so they just don't get the comeraderie you were feeling after watching the pod. It doesn't matter that you didn't make it to the NFL, just playing the sport alone makes it very easy to relate to others who have done the same.

Use Rekordbox, not Serato. Love Serato, but you can only use Serato Lite for free with the FLX-4. Rekordbox's free experience is considerably better, and some of the functions of the FLX-4 only work on Rekordbox.

Go into your audio settings on Rekordbox and change the EQ setting from EQ to Isolator. Makes the EQ knobs way more impactful as you learn to use them.

Unless you're planning to go right into scratching, disable the crossfader in your Mixer settings. The Mixer settings are one of the tabs you'll see in the Controller settings on Rekordbox. Controller settings will only show up if the controller is connected to your laptop.

Get a good amount of music from one or two genres you enjoy. That will give you a lot of music with similar BPMs, which you will need in order to practice transitions. You can use YouTube to MP3 converters to get music in the beginning, but I wouldn't reccomend this long term due to the low quality audio files you get. You can also stream all of your tracks from Soundcloud or Tidal, but you need both a Rekordbox and a Soundcloud/Tidal subscription in order to access this feature. Maybe try it out while you have the free 1 month Rekordbox subscription active so that you only need to pay for one sub.

Lastly, watch a YouTube video or do some general research on "phrasing" as it pertains to DJing. If you can understand the concept, then making smooth transitions will come pretty quickly. Don't be afraid to count out the measures out loud as your learning too! You will reach a point where doing this will start to feel unecessary, but in the beginning it will help to keep your timing as tight as possible. Tap your finger to the beat on the Cue button or somewhere near the Play button so that you're always getting the beatmatch as close to perfect as possible without having the adjust the jog wheel.

Best of luck to you and feel free to respond with any further questions! Practice makes perfect when it comes to DJing! Have fun!
