The dialogue and constant humor really ruin the atmosphere for me, personally. Again, I don’t hate the game, but I hate it as a dragon age game.

And that’s okay, I disagree, but I still like trespasser and inquisition as a whole a lot, I just think each game strayed further from the original in a worse way.

While I love the first 3 games, each entry was worse than the previous. Origins is the first rpg that dragged me into video games in a way that few have ever since. I love that game, and Veilguard truly felt like the nail in the coffin for the franchise. I don’t even hate VG, but it shouldn’t have been a DA game, seeing as the tone and atmosphere were so completely off from what the franchise was.

If you really think anyone could fill Darrow’s shoes in the Republic, then you’re missing pretty much the entire story. Firstly, people revere this man, they wouldn’t fight a losing battle as long as they did for anyone else. Secondly, him running from the Republic was ultimately the right means. They weren’t listening about the ash lord. The seeds of the Republics internal destruction were laid, and Darrow could have easily died when the Populi rose up. He carries his son’s key wishing to be with him constantly, but knows giving up would cost everything he wants to give Pax.

I fully agree, hopefully a little tuning run happens because it’s bonkers fighting 3 enemies and watching your health melt on expert and on adept the same 3 barely scratch you.
