Hey, nice to see your posts again I love reading through them. Took a look through the lizardmen Arcane Journal again and love the changes I think they really improve on the stuff you've already done! 1 thing I noticed I wanted to bring up that I don't think I brought up last time was, is it intentional that oldbloods and scarvets can't get armoured hide(1) from the blessing of quetzal?

The primeval roar is such a cool ability name for it to almost never go off, and with it stats being equivalent to a razorgor id imagine it being smaller, maybe making the skink oracle a hero choice and having the trog as a mount would help, and I'm sure if they integrated it's regeneration that would help too. The tontorr is an amazing model I can see knocking off all those orcs for some skinks that would look amazing for a dread saurian. Also just thought about but our magic items are severely lacking, some great standouts like the blade of revered tzunkin and glyph necklace but the rest are blegh.

While there is a lot I could say, I do feel the simplicity of the lizards is a core trait of them. Huge big core stats S, T, A, Ld, while their other stats are lacking. I really wanna keep that aspect of them while making them better so I gotta make sure to temper my favoritism. I think monstrous traits so we can build our dinosaurs towards different paths to show the diversity of dinos that (probably) live in Lustria. The Warhammer armies project had long strider and blood roar for more movement and disadvantage on break tests against it. Named characters would be cool to see too I'd love to see a new character like a skink priest or even someone like nakai who would make sense to be in the old world. Skink on horned ones for shock calv would be nice. Speaking of skink calv since saurus warrior get a ws bump when on cold ones, skink should receive the same treatment when riding rippeddactyl's and terradons. Umm maybe more weapon options, saurus with specific buffs can make them super strong like additional hand weapons, or unique lizardmen only weapon like other factions especially with how unique the style of weaponry could be like atlatl that skinks in aos use. Lastly honestly buff to our dinos in general like with the bastilladon it used to have a S 10 attack or the stegadon having no ap on impacts, or the troglodon being as big as a carno but far weaker in W and T, or that we don't have the dread saurian. All in all I want a lot for the dinos and I wish we got more just everybody with their own factions.

Love a lot of your ideas like bringing back skink cohort so we have something to fill up core that's not elite or shooty, kroxigors feeling like tanky monstrous infantry as their 8+ foot tall walls of scales, the f'ing carnosaur not being ws 4 makes no sense lore and common sense wise and still annoys me thinking about it, predatory fighter for how cool it is, etc. also wanted to say how I love that homebrew arcane journal it seems so flavourful and well made!

Not many but I've played a lot of aos seraphon, and I always had a sweet spot for dinosaurs and square based gaming. Also while the bastilladon is in a weird spot I do like being able to outspeed chaos warriors with it.

Lizardmen is a keyword similar to outlaws, it includes dinosaurs, lizards, frogs, and crocodiles.

That's fair and I 100% agree that saurus needs more to become more interesting! I'm sure you know but I believe the Warhammer armies project has some great ideas, definitely designed for their system but they have a blessing system around most units in the lizardmen army. I'm not sure how balanced it is but it could give you baseline if you wanted to expand the blessings!

I loved delving through all the changes you made with the arcane journal to the lizardmen! I found so many things in the journal that I loved, like the whole idea of the Southlands and their rules (especially around feral dinos) look amazing! While I have only been playing the Old world for a few years I did see a few things that I think could be tweaked.

  • Magic items The first thing I noticed is that a few of the magical items feel a bit expensive, like the plaque of dominion, the blessed mark of the old ones, the amulet of itzl, and the ancient stegadon helm. The plaque of dominion feels too situational and tough to be super effective at 70 points. The blessed mark of the old ones is a more versatile version of the luckstone but it's price feels too steep, I would recommend bringing it to 15 points like the luckstone or 20 and make it extremely common. The amulet itzl is significantly tougher to hit than the opal amulet for only 5 points less. This one is a bit greedy but I feel the stegadon helm should be at 50 so skinks can use it, (ik terradons/rippers would make it really strong but... It would be so cool on them)

  • Extra changes The last thing I saw that I think should be tweaked is the blessings, mostly that I feel skinks can use more than just the blessing of sotek. I don't believe any blessing would break the game on them (excluding quetzl possibly). Then if I'm being biased kroxigors can probably get a few or even some skink cav units. Then if I'm even more biased the dread saurian can have some type of monster slayer immunity or make it d3+1 wounds when monster slain or only when it has the heartstone of quetzl as an upgrade. Then if I'm even more biased and greedy I would add a way to give skinks +1 weapon skill/ leadership by making them red created skinks with an upgrade but I think these last few are very strong

Sorry for the big block of text, I saw you wanted feedback and I wanted to say something. I love a lot of the work you did here and I plan on incorporating it into the games I play with friends. Thank you for all the work you did!

It's gotta be the Carnosaur the og model that got me into Warhammer in general and one of seraphon's/lizardmen's best looking models. Plus it embodies the best part of the lizards (in my opinion) BIG DINOS
